Morgann Paaske (SR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) struck out nine batters against one walk in 11.1 innings of work in the two games, but all six runs her Augsburg University softball team were unearned, as No. 13-ranked Saint Mary's University claimed a doubleheader sweep of the Auggies on Saturday in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Paaske pitched a complete game in the opening contest, striking out six against no walks and six hits, with 69 strikes among her 93 pitches. The Cardinals' lone runs came on a two-out single and double following an earlier error, with both runs unearned.
• Augsburg reached base on four hits and a walk, but all five runners were stranded in the game. The Auggies' best opportunity came in the second inning, when
Lola Pilon (SO, Farmington, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS) singled and
Zoie Johnson (SR, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) doubled to put runners on second and third, but a pair of fly outs and a strikeout ended the Auggie threat. The Auggies didn't get a runner past first base the rest of the way.

Torrie Rehder (SR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) and
Jayden Evenson (JR, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) had the other Auggie hits in the game.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg had just three hits in the second game, with a double by Pilon in the second inning, and singles by Paaske and
Olivia Funk (SR, Lewiston, Minn./Lewiston-Altura HS).
• Paaske struck out three against one walk in 4.1 innings of work, but all four runs charged to her were unearned, as the Auggies committed six errors in the game. Funk struck out two against one walk in 2.2 innings of relief.
FOR THE FOES
• Megan McGinnis had four of the 10 hits that Saint Mary's had in the doubleheader, scoring three runs. She also had four stolen bases, with three coming in the second game.
• Makayla Steffes struck out six against one walk in a complete-game win in the first game, and Kenzie Gatz had eight strikeouts against no walks in the second-game win.
