ST. JOSEPH, MInn. -- The Augsburg University softball team dropped a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday, falling 10-7 in the first game and 11-1 in five innings in the second game.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• In a back-and-forth first game, Augsburg tied the game at 7-7 with two runs in the fourth inning, but Saint Benedict claimed the victory with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Morgann Paaske (SR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) scored on a wild pitch, and Syson brought home Pilon on an infield single.
• Funk went 3-for-4 in the first game for the Auggies, driving in two runs.
• Paaske struck out two against four walks and eight hits in six innings of work. Just five of the 10 runs charged to Paaske were earned, as Augsburg committed four errors in the game.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg scored a run in the first inning, as Pilon hit an RBI single to bring home Rehder, but after that, it was all Saint Benedict in the second game, as the Bennies scored all 11 of their runs in the first three innings.
• Pilon went 3-for-3 for the Auggies in the second game, while Evenson went 2-for-2.

Zoe Adkins (JR, Homer, Alaska/Homer HS) pitched the first two innings, and Paaske pitched the final two innings, striking out two.
FOR THE FOES
• Olivia Tautges went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a home run for Saint Benedict in the first game.
• Bryn Ruhberg went 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs scored, hitting a grand-slam home run in the third inning of the second game.
