MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's soccer team had a pair of scoring chances hit the crossbar, but a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire shot in the 52nd minute found the net, giving the Blugolds a 1-0 nonconference win over the host Auggies on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot UW-Eau Claire by a 13-5 margin and held a 51-to-49-percent advantage in possession, but two of its best scoring chances came on shots that deflected high off the woodwork -- a shot by
Avery Rich (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS) in the 27th minute and another by
Allison Hookom (SR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) in the 59th minute.
• Augsburg had five shots on-goal in the game, including two by
McKenna Nachreiner (JR, Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee HS).
Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) had five shots in the contest.
FOR THE FOES
• Emma Donovan scored for the Blugolds in the 52nd minute, gaining the ball on a steal deep in Augsburg territory and scoring an unassisted goal.
• Bella Jones had five saves in goal for UW-Eau Claire.
