DULUTH, Minn. -- Quarterback
Caden Rodkewich (JR, New Brighton, Minn./St. Anthony Village HS) completed 24-of-36 passes for 321 yards and four touchdowns, guiding the Augsburg University football team to its first victory of the season, a 30-23 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference triumph at the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg rallied twice in the fourth quarter, scoring long touchdown passes on the first plays of drives. The Saints took a 20-16 lead with 14:50 left in the game, and after each teams exchanged possessions, the Auggies took the lead back, as Rodkewich completed a 45-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Ritchie (JR, Blaine, Minn./Irondale HS) with 10:30 left.
• St. Scholastica then completed an 11-play, 49-yard drive to tie the game at 23-23 on a field goal with 6:28 left. Augsburg took the kickoff to its own 23-yard line, and after a delay of game penalty sent the ball back five yards, Rodkewich completed a pass over the middle to
Tyrone Wilson (SR, Ellendale, Minn./New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva HS), who eluded several defenders to go 82 yards for his second touchdown of the game, giving the Auggies the lead for good.
• The Saints drove the ball to the Augsburg 27-yard line, but
London Campbell (SO, Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS) claimed a huge interception on a deep ball to give the Auggies the ball with 3:48 left. Augsburg then converted two first downs to clinch the win.
• The Saints scored on their first two possessions of the game to take a 14-0 lead, but Augsburg used a nine-play, 60-yard drive to score its first touchdown of the season, on a 19-yard scoring pass from Rodkewich to Wilson. An interception and 29-yard return by
Langden College (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) put the ball at the Saints' 6-yard line, and
Nathan Wangensteen (SR, Chisholm, Minn./Chisholm HS) converted a 23-yard field goal to cut the advantage to 14-10.
• Defense gave the Auggies another chance to score in the closing minutes of the first half, as
Griffin Thom (JR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) forced a fumble that
CJ Dickerson (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) recovered at the Saints' 30-yard line with 2:09 left. Six plays later, Rodkewich completed a three-yard scoring pass to
Michael Lau (SR, Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS), giving the Auggies a 16-14 halftime lead.
• Augsburg outgained St. Scholastica by a 411-403 margin in the back-and-forth game, with 321 passing yards and 90 rushing yards.
• Wilson caught 11 passes for a career-high 198 yards and two scores, with his 82-yard touchdown catch the longest of his career. Lau caught seven passes for 49 yards.

Ralph Naimah (SO, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) rushed 18 times for 48 yards, and
Derrick Sando (FY, Faribault, Minn./Bethlehem Academy HS) rushed nine times for 37 yards.
• Defensively,
Jax Bokman (SR, Faribault, Minn./Bethlehem Academy HS) had eight sacks (seven solo), while
RJ Chakolis (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Hopkins HS) had five tackles (four solo).
• Four Auggies had tackles for-loss -- College,
Tayvion Gardner (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS),
Javin Johnson (SO, Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) and
Griffin Thom (JR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS).
FOR THE FOES
• Jevon Williams rushed 24 times for 229 yards and a 60-yard touchdown for St. Scholastica.
• Austin Mundt had 13 tackles (nine solo) for the Saints.
