QUOTES FROM AUGSBURG COACH GREG HOLKER
• "I think it's safe to say
Carver Tierney is gonna be a handful this year. After going through a little funk in the early part of preseason, he has just unleashed in the last two games. Add Mitchel and Miz to the scoring threat, and this group has some potential to grab vital goals in difficult games ahead."
• "The entire team was excited for Gideon to get his first goal -- he's proven to be a big personality in the team, and we are all cheering for him. I thought Chris Plaza was really good tonight, controlling the rhythm for the second group from a deeper position in midfield."
• "We aren't yet full strength, and won't be into this difficult weekend, but hope to be by the time MIAC play gets started in two weeks time. Nothing is easy and we have to keep working hard every day, staying consistent with what we can control, and then let the rest fall into place."
FOR THE FOES
• Hayden DeAnnuntis had two saves in 67 minutes for Northwestern-St. Paul, with Logan Mooney recording a save in 23 minutes of relief.
UP NEXT
• Augsburg travels to face Luther College (Iowa) in a nonconference match on Friday (9/5) at 7 p.m. in Decorah, Iowa.
