2025 MIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MINNEAPOLIS -- For the fourth time in her career, Augsburg University forward
Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week on Offense, it was announced on Monday.
Ponce claimed her fourth career hat trick with a four-goal, two-assist effort in
Augsburg's 10-0 win over Bethany Lutheran on Saturday. Claiming her ninth career multi-goal game, Ponce recorded career highs in both goals (four) and points (10), scoring goals in the fourth, 12th, 17th and 51st minutes. Her four goals were tied for the third-most in a single game among NCAA Division III women's soccer players nationally, with her 10 points tied for the most in Division III.
Ponce now has 35 goals and 26 assists for 96 points in her 58 games in her Augsburg career, moving into fifth place in Augsburg history in career goals, fourth place in career points and tied for fifth place in career assists. Ponce has six goals on the year, tied for the MIAC's scoring lead, and leads the MIAC with 14 points.
Now 2-1-0 overall, Augsburg hosts the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a nonconference game on Wednesday (9/10) at 7:30 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
