
MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University forward
Aunna Schulte (SO, Bolingbrook, Ill./Plainfield East HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week on Offense, it was announced on Monday.
Schulte scored a goal and added four assists for a five-point weekend, figuring in the scoring on all five Auggie goals, as Augsburg split a key MIAC series with Hamline in a battle of top-five-ranked teams nationally. On Friday, she scored a power play goal and added an assist in the
Auggies' 6-2 loss at Hamline, and on Sunday, she had a career-best three assists, assisting on all three goals in the
Auggies' 3-2 overtime win over the Pipers.
On the season, Schulte now has seven goals and nine assists for 16 points, tied for 13th in the MIAC in goals, tied for ninth in assists and tied for ninth in total points.
Now 12-3-1 overall and 6-2-1 in MIAC play, Augsburg is now ranked No. 4 in the USCHO.com Division III national poll and No. 2 in the D-III HockeyNews.com Division III national poll. Augsburg has a MIAC series against St. Olaf this upcoming weekend, hosting the Oles on Friday (1/30) at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink, and playing at St. Olaf on Saturday (1/31) at 4 p.m.
