Auggies complete sweep with dominant win

MINNEAPOLIS -- Completing a weekend sweep in which it outscored its opponent by an 18-6 margin, the Augsburg University men's hockey team scored a 10-2 nonconference triumph over visiting Lake Forest College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Fourteen different Auggies figured in the scoring in Saturday's victory, part of a weekend that saw 17 different Auggies record a goal or assist.
• A day after collecting his first collegiate hat trick, Nolan Nenow (FY, Jamestown, N.D./Jamestown HS) had a four-point afternoon on Saturday, scoring two goals with two assists. He had a seven-point weekend, with five goals and two assists. 
• Conner Schneider (SO, Sun Prairie, Wis./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) and Ryan Comishock (FY, Enosburg Falls, Vt./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had a goal and two assists each. Schneider ended up with two goals and five assists for seven points on the weekend.
Jake Hale (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Apex Virtual School), Noah Grolnic (FY, Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley HS), Grant Dardis (FY, Pine Springs, Minn./Mahtomedi HS), Zachary Reim (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Gentry Academy HS), Max Giblin (JR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) and Nick Catalano (SR, Oconomowoc, Wis./Arrowhead Union HS) also scored goals for the Auggies.
JS Pack (FY, Conifer, Colo./Lawrence Academy (Mass.) HS) and Peyton Hanson (SR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) had two assists each.
• Augsburg was outshot by a 35-32 margin in the game. Making his first appearance of the season in goal and ninth in his college career, Josh Koziol (SR, Elk River, Minn./Elk River HS) had 33 saves for the victory.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg's 10 goals were its most scored in a game since a 10-2 victory over Concordia-Moorhead on Jan. 21, 2017.

FOR THE FOES
• Christopher O'Flaherty and Will Brown scored goals for Lake Forest.
• Dylan Kruss had 16 saves in two periods for the Foresters, with Alexander Rohlf recording six saves in the third period.
