HOW IT HAPPENED
The Auggies erased an early 3-0 deficit in the opening set with kills by Jovial King and Lilly Wynn, an Ava Carlson service ace and an attack error by the Pipers to move in front 5-4. After the teams traded points through the middle of the set, the Auggies used a Wynn kill and back-to-back Taliah Triggs kills to build a 16-13 lead. The Pipers scored the next six points, including a Lexi Helmin ace and an Ashley Norberg kill, to go ahead 19-16. The Auggies cut the margin to 23-21 on kills by Ameerah Rogers and Aloaha Ricke, but a service error and Lydia Graham's kill closed the set for the Pipers, 25-21.

After the Pipers scored the first two points in the second set and led 3-1, the Auggies answered with kills by Wynn and Triggs around a Pipers setting error, and another Triggs kill put the Auggies in front 6-4. The Pipers came back to tie the set at 9-9 on Lexi Helmin's ace and moved ahead 12-10, but the Auggies pulled even at 14-14 on Aloaha Ricke's ace and took a 15-14 lead when Rogers and King combined on a block. After the Pipers went back in front 16-15, kills by Rogers and Gwynn Gorter helped the Auggies build an 18-16 edge before the Pipers scored the next four points to lead 20-18. The Auggies stayed within 21-20 on Ava Carlson's kill and later fought off two set points with consecutive Triggs kills, but the Pipers closed the set at 25-22 on a Sophia Johnson kill.

Ava Carlson's ace and a Pipers attack error helped the Auggies move in front 3-0 in the third set, and Ameerah Rogers' kill plus a King/Rogers block helped keep the Auggies ahead 6-3. The Pipers worked back to tie the set at 8-8 and later built a 17-14 lead on a Lydia Graham kill and a Siena Busalacchi ace, but the Auggies answered with three straight points, including a King ace and a Grace Hamilton kill, to make it 17-17. After the set was tied again at 20-20, Wynn put the Auggies back in front with a kill and a Pipers setting error made it 22-20. Triggs added a kill for a 23-21 lead, and after the Auggies reached set point, Rogers finished the set with a kill for a 25-22 win.

Facing an early 9-4 Pipers lead, the Auggies erased the deficit in the fourth set with five straight points, getting two kills from Ricke, a Maggie Lile service ace and a block by Hamilton and King to tie the fourth set at 9-9. The Pipers later held a 19-16 lead, but a service error and back-to-back King aces pulled the Auggies even at 19-19, and after the Pipers went back in front, a Wynn kill and Rogers block gave the Auggies a 21-20 lead. The Auggies moved ahead 23-21 on a Pipers service error and Rogers-Wynn block, then reached 24-22 on another Pipers service error. The Pipers scored the final four points, including a Cameryn Sand kill, two blocks and a Lexi Helmin kill, to take the set 26-24.
