MINNEAPOLIS -- For the fourth time in school history, the Augsburg University men's wrestling team captured the National Wrestling Coaches Association's Division III Scholar All-America Team national title, with a team grade-point average of 3.86 and a school-record 22 individual Scholar All-Americans, it was announced recently. Nine of the 10 Auggies who qualified for the NCAA Division III national tournament also earned Scholar All-American honors this season.
Augsburg, which finished third at the NCAA Division III National Championships this season with five All-Americans, was one of only four Division III programs to place in the top 15 in both the national team race and the academic team race this season. New York University placed eighth academically (3.7061 GPA) and fourth on the mat, Roanoke (Va.) finished 10th academically (3.6952 GPA) and sixth on the mat, and Chicago (Ill.) placed ninth academically (3.7032 GPA) and 11th on the mat.
Augsburg has now earned the Division III academic national title four times since 1998 -- joining the titles earned in 1999 (3.480 team GPA), 2012 (3.7341 team GPA) and 2022 (3.879 team GPA).
Twenty-two Auggies were named NWCA Division III Scholar All-Americans:

Nick Alexander (JR, Kaukauna, Wis./Wrightstown HS), a finance major with a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 20-17 this season and is 70-31 in his career. He was a national tournament qualifier at 174 pounds this season.
•
Apollo Ashby (SO, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS), a chemistry major with a 3.56 GPA. He finished 21-11 this season at 174 pounds and is 32-19 in his career.

Cole Becker (SR, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), a finance major with a 3.95 GPA. A four-time Scholar All-American, he finished 31-9 this season and is 100-24 in his career. He was a national tournament qualifier for the second time in his career at 141 pounds this season, earning All-American honors for the first time with an eighth-place national finish.

Brandt Bombard (SR, North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS), a business management major with a 3.92 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 29-6 this season and is 83-29Â in his career. A two-time All-American and two-time national tournament qualifier at 184 pounds, he finished fourth at the national tournament this season.

Tyler Chenevert (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Farmington HS), an elementary education major with a 3.91 GPA. He finished 19-10 this season at 125 pounds.

Treynor Curtin (FY, Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg HS), a physical education major with a 3.58 GPA. He finished 27-10 this season at 125 pounds.

Carter Freeman (FY, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln HS), an exercise science major with a 3.75 GPA. He finished 21-7 this season at 133 pounds.

Owen Griesbach (FY, Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield HS), an undecided major with a 3.83 GPA. He finished 28-6 this season at 184 pounds.

Lucas Jagodzinske (SR, Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West HS), a master's of business administration student with a 4.00 GPA. A four-time Scholar All-American, he finished 24-4 this season and is 103-24 in his career.
•
Keegan Kuball (FY, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS), a finance major with a 3.50 GPA. He finished 29-5 this season at 285 pounds.

Colton Loween (FY, Roseville, Minn./Mounds View HS), an undecided major with a 3.50 GPA. He finished 27-6 this season at 165 pounds.
•
Karsen Otis (JR, Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly HS), an exercise science major with a 3.43Â GPA. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 29-8 this season and is 80-20 in his career. He was a national tournament qualifier at 157 pounds this season.

Matthew Randolph (SO, Jordan, Minn./Jordan HS (Scott West)), a computer science major with a 4.00 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 28-4 this year and is 59-8 in his career. He earned All-American honors for the second straight year, finishing fifth nationally this season at 149 pounds.

Tyler Raway (SR, Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake HS), a master's of business administration student with a 3.89 GPA. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 29-6 this season and is 91-31 in his career, qualifying for the national tournament for the first time at 285 pounds.

Cole Sarbacker (SO, Edgerton, Wis./Stoughton HS), a business management major with a 3.41 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 11-5 this season and is 25-11 in his career.

Jacob Schimek (SO, Eagle Lake, Minn./St. Clair HS), a business management major with a 3.38 GPA. He finished 12-3 this season at 285 pounds and is 25-12 in his career.

Chance Suddeth (JR, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton HS), an exercise science major with a 3.61Â GPA. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 25-14 this season and is 75-32 in his career. He earned All-American honors for the second straight year with an eighth-place finish at 133 pounds this season, competing at the national tournament for the third time.

Brady Swenson (SO, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS), an undecided major with a 3.53 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 25-13 this season at 157 pounds and is 45-16 in his career.

Ethan Swenson (FY, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS), an undecided major with a 3.75 GPA. He finished 28-7Â this season at 197 pounds.

Cade Willis (SR, Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove HS), a business administration major. He finished 24-8 this season at 141 pounds and is 90-46 in his career.

Cooper Willis (SR, Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove HS), a finance major with a 3.48 GPA. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 27-5 this season and is 125-20Â in his career. A three-time All-American at 165 pounds, he qualified for his fourth national tournament this season.

Ethan Winkelman (SO, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS), an exercise science major with a 3.64 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 33-5 this season and is 55-7 in his career. He qualified for the national tournament for the first time this season at 197 pounds, finishing third nationally to earn All-American honors.
Since 1983, Augsburg has produced 264 NWCA Scholar All-Americans. Augsburg has had 242 student-athletes honored since 1997. The 2024-25 campaign marks the seventh time in program history, and fifth in a row, in which the Auggies have had 10 or more Scholar All-Americans. Since 1998, Augsburg has finished among the top 15 teams in the academic national listing 24 times, winning the academic national title four times.

Tony Valek, Augsburg finished third at the NCAA Division III National Championships in 2025, earning five All-Americans among its 10 national tournament qualifiers. The Auggies finished 9-3 in dual meets and also placed third at the NWCA Division III National Duals.
