THE BASICS
SCORES
: Wisconsin-Eau Claire 8, Augsburg 0 (5 inn.); Wisconsin-Eau Claire 19, Augsburg 1 (5 inn.)
LOCATION: Sonnentag Fieldhouse, Eau Claire, Wis.
RECORD: Augsburg 2-6 overall, UW-Eau Claire 5-3 overall

GAME 1 RECAP
In the first game, Augsburg managed only four hits and failed to score, while UW-Eau Claire's offense was dominant, tallying 10 hits that included three doubles and a home run. The Blugolds took control early with a six-run first inning, starting with a walk to Brooklyn Swanepoel, who later stole second. Key hits, including a two-run homer by Norah Kutnink and an RBI single from Chloe Ricard, extended the lead to 6-0.

Augsburg struggled to generate offense despite opportunities, as Teron Ormond-Miller and Lola Pilon reached base in the third inning but could not capitalize with runners in scoring position. Jayden Evenson sparked the team in the fifth with a leadoff double, but the momentum fell short as the early deficit proved insurmountable.

GAME 2 RECAP
In the second game, Augsburg's lone run came from a solo home run by Lola Pilon, but the team recorded only a single hit in the five-inning contest. UW-Eau Claire's offense exploded for 15 hits and five home runs, including a three-run homer from Breeley Gluch during a six-run first inning.

The Auggies' defense was unable to contain the scoring, as the Blugolds capitalized on opportunities created by walks and timely hits. Despite Pilon's home run in the fourth inning breaking the scoring drought, Augsburg was unable to mount a significant rally.
