Breya Sawyer found the net for Augsburg at 1:16 with assistance from
Sydney Bainville, marking Augsburg's first score. In addition to her goal, Sawyer added a ground ball and two draw controls for the Auggies.
The Auggies struggled to gain momentum in the second quarter, with UW-Stout capitalizing on several opportunities. Despite Augsburg's defensive efforts, including multiple saves by Schuster, the Blue Devils extended their lead with six goals, including a late score by Lauren Busho at 00:15. Augsburg attempted to respond with a draw control by
Breya Sawyer and a ground ball pickup by
Isabella Kohout, who tallied three ground balls in the game. However, turnovers hindered its progress. The first half ended with UW-Stout leading 12–1.
