MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University faced Concordia College-Moorhead in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball doubleheader on Saturday at Edor Nelson Field, falling to the Cobbers in both games with final scores of 12-2 and 7-2. The games marked the final home contests for six Augsburg seniors --

GAME 1 RECAP
In the first game, Augsburg managed three hits, including a home run, but could not overcome Concordia's early lead.
Zoe Adkins pitched a complete game, throwing 5 innings and allowing 6 hits against Concordia. She issued 8 walks and struck out 3 batters, surrendering 3 earned runs. Adkins threw a total of 129 pitches, with 59 of them being strikes, and gave up one home run during the outing.

However, Augsburg struggled to maintain momentum, and the Cobbers widened their lead with a four-run fifth inning, highlighted by Jocelyn Maki's grand slam, putting the game out of reach. Despite the setback, Augsburg showed resilience.
Jayden Evenson's single in the third inning and
Megan Gissler's hit in the fifth provided opportunities, but Concordia's defense held firm.
GAME 2 RECAP
In the second game, Augsburg continued to struggle, allowing 12 hits, including six doubles and a home run. Concordia took an early lead in the first inning with Reese Hauck's double to right center, driving in two runs. Augsburg responded in the second inning when
Jaime Olson, one of the seniors, singled through the right side, bringing home
Mckenna Haug and
Paityn Pagenkopf, leveling the score at 2–2 by the end of the second inning.
The game remained tied until the fifth inning, when Jocelyn Maki's two-run homer to left field gave the Cobbers a 4–2 advantage. The Auggies were held scoreless in the bottom of the fifth, and the score stood at 4–2. Concordia extended its lead in the sixth inning with a single by Morgan Guggisberg that brought in another run, making it 5–2. Augsburg was unable to score in their half of the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, Concordia further solidified its lead with two more runs from RBI doubles by Reese Hauck and Kate Gulbranson.
