Auggies drop 3-0 decision to Cobbers

MINNEAPOLIS — The Augsburg University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 home defeat at the to Concordia College-Moorhead on Tuesday in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest. Augsburg honored its four seniors -- Kaidin Camp, McKenna Nachreiner, Sierra Swallen and Rosie Tureson -- in a ceremony prior to the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Auggies generated multiple first-half chances, including saved shots by Piper Schmidt and McKenna Nachreiner during a four-minute stretch that also produced a corner kick. Concordia-Moorhead answered late, with Emma Sheflo scoring at 35:06 and Addi Lowell adding another at 37:18 to put the Auggies down 2-0.

The Auggies opened the second half with their clearest push, producing five shots and three corners from 46:42 to 55:32 while Concordia kept the score at 2-0. Augsburg later earned two more corners before Emma Sheflo's 86th-minute goal pushed the deficit to 0-3. Ciara Cross forced a save in the 89th minute, but the Auggies were held scoreless in the half and fell 3-0.

The Auggies generated 13 shots, including eight after halftime, and put five attempts on goal in the loss. Schmidt led Augsburg with three shots and put two on goal. Nachreiner also recorded three shots, including one on frame. Kaidin Camp added two shots with one on goal. Claire Smothers played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with three saves.
