FORT MYERS, Fla. (3/28/02) -- Tim Lastivka went 4-for-5 at the plate, scoring three runs and driving in four, to lead Otterbein College (Ohio) to a 13-3 win over Augsburg College in a Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic baseball game on Thursday morning at Terry Park.

Otterbein moved to 8-1 overall with its fourth straight win, while Augsburg dropped to 4-12 overall. Augsburg is 1-5 in its six games this week in Florida.

Otterbein slammed 20 hits, including three doubles, a triple and a homer, to Augsburg's 13. Augsburg stranded 11 runners on base in the game.

The Cardinals put three runs on the board in the third inning, keyed on a two-run homer by Jeremy Compton. Two more runs came across in the fourth, on run-scoring singles from Lastivka and Tory Allen. Three runs came across in the sixth inning, on run-scoring doubles from Brian Meyer and Lastivka, and a run-scoring single from Compton. Otterbein sent nine batters to the plate and scored five runs in the seventh, as Tim Deering drove in a run on a single, Lastivka drove in two runs on a single, and Aaron Stupica singled to bring in a run.

Augsburg scored a single run in the sixth, when Travis Akre (Jr., Winona, Minn.) singled home Pat Marsh (Sr., Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS). In the eighth, Nick Rathmann (Jr., Waseca, Minn.) singled home Tony Marsh (Fr., Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), and Tony Marsh singled home Frank Huebner (Sr., Northfield, Minn.) in the ninth.

Compton went 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Meyer went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and Deering went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Tony Marsh, Huebner and Ryan Krautkremer (Sr., Waseca, Minn.) led Augsburg with two hits each.

Augsburg used five pitchers in the game, with starter John Golnitz (Fr., Green Bay, Wis./Preble HS) getting tagged with the loss, pitching five innings. Dave Ricciardo scored the win for Otterbein, pitching four innings and striking out two. Reliever Josh Dandurand struck out five Auggies in four innings of work.

Augsburg returns to action in the Gene Cusic Classic on Friday (3/29), facing Fontbonne (Mo.) at 10 a.m.
