MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University baseball team was recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) with the Team Academic Excellence Award, it was announced this week. Augsburg finished the 2025-26 school year with a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.33.

In order to earn the honor, teams must post a team GPA of 3.0 or above for the entire 2025-26 academic year. Augsburg was one of nearly 500 collegiate programs recognized (NCAA D-I, D-II, D-III, NAIA and junior college).

Of the team's 40 players in 2026, 25 Auggies had cumulative GPAs of 3.20 or higher and 19 had GPAs of 3.50 or higher.

Ten Auggies earned Academic All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors in 202-26 -- Nick Allbee (SR, Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS), Jake Gonse (SR, Ramsey, Minn./Anoka HS), Ethan Hathaway (SO, Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson HS), Will Haverly (SR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS), Jacob Henry (SR, Stacy, Minn./Forest Lake HS), Grant Hutton (SO, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS), Gerald Johnson (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS), Austin Lang (SR, Anoka Minn./Anoka HS), Tyler Lissman (SO, Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich Community HS) and Kell Piggott (SR, Superior, Wis./Superior HS). 

The Auggies finished 8-19 overall and 5-15 in MIAC play in 2026.
