Men's Basketball 1/29/05 -- Bethel 91, Augsburg 73

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (1/29/05) -- Bethel University completed a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball sweep of Augsburg College on Saturday afternoon with a 91-73 win at Bethel's Robertson Center.
The Royals, now 12-5 overall and 7-5 in MIAC play, were led by Travis Jones and Tim Gilbert, who dominated much of the game. Jones finished with 32 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, as Gilbert added 26 points to go with his four assists and three steals. Andy Cook came off the bench to provide the Royals with some added firepower, as he scored 10 points and added seven rebounds.
Augsburg was led by
Lucas Olson-Patterson's (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) second-half surge of 21 points and six rebounds, as he finished the evening with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Charlie Scott (So., Ely, Minn.) had eight points, and
Dan Graf (So., Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) and
Zac Rosen (Sr., Plymouth, Minn./West Lutheran HS) had seven points each.
Augsburg is now 7-11 overall and 5-8 in MIAC play. The Auggies have dropped their last four games in a row and seven of their last nine games.
Both teams are in action on Monday (1/31) at 7:30 p.m., with Augsburg hosting Carleton at Si Melby Hall and Bethel hosting St. John's.
