MINNEAPOLIS (10/19/05) -- Jen Seip (Sr., Duluth, Minn./Central HS) scored in the first half for the College of St. Scholastica, while
Millie Suk * (Sr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored in the second half for Augsburg College, as the teams played to a 1-1 tie in two overtimes in a nonconference women's soccer game Wednesday evening at Augsburg's Edor Nelson Field.
Kristin Lammi (Sr., Duluth, Minn./Denfeld HS) made nine saves in goal for St. Scholastica, while
Maggie DeGroot (Fr., Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West HS) claimed six saves for Augsburg.
Augsburg is now 8-1-5 overall, while St. Scholastica is now 8-4-3 overall. Augsburg outshot St. Scholastica 21-17 in the game, with both teams recording four shots each in the 20 minutes of overtime.
Seip scored her eighth goal of the season on a long pass from Shannon Kresky (So., Duluth, Minn./Denfeld HS) in the 31st minute, scoring from 15 yards out. Seip notched her 51st career goal and 143rd career point in the process, moving just three points behind St. Scholastica's all-time points leader, Jill Tribble, who played from 1992-95 for the Saints.
Augsburg tied the game three minutes into the second half, as Suk claimed her ninth goal of the season.
Kelsey Watsabaugh (Fr., Eden Prairie, Minn./Hopkins HS) fed a pass to
Noreen Hogan (So., Moline, Ill./Alleman HS), who found Suk open in the center of the penalty box for a shot to the open left side of the net. Suk extended her school records for both career goals (38) and career points (93) with the second-half tally.
Emily Anderson * (Jr., Hudson, Wis.) had seven shots for Augsburg, while Suk had four shots and Hogan had three. Krista Parrent (Jr., Proctor, Minn.) and Seip had four shots apiece for the Saints.
Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday (10/22), hosting Bethel at 3 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field. St. Scholastica returns to Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday with a 12 p.m. game at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn.
