MINNEAPOLIS (1/21/08) -- David Olson (JR, Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) scored 23 points, hitting three 3-pointers, while Justin Kozlowski * (SR, Wausau, Wis./Wausau Newman HS) scored a season-high 20 points on five 3-pointers, as Augsburg College claimed a 75-63 victory over visiting Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Monday night at Si Melby Hall.

Augsburg (5-10 overall, 3-7 MIAC) hit a season-high 11 three-pointers in the game, as it led from start to finish. Augsburg led 29-22 at halftime and extended the lead to as many as 19 points down the stretch.

A 10-2 run gave the Auggies its first double-digit lead, 18-8 with 8:52 left in the first half. Bethel trimmed the Augsburg advantage to four points, 43-39 with 11:37 left in the second half, but Augsburg scored the next 12 points, part of a 19-4 run over a 5:15 span, to take a 62-43 lead with 6:22 left.

Kozlowski added seven assists and two steals to his 20-point effort -- his fourth 20-point-or-greater effort of his career -- while Olson added two steals and four rebounds to his 23-point effort. The game was Olson's third straight scoring in double figures since moving back into the starting lineup after a midseason injury.

Femi Solaja (SR, Cottage Grove, Minn./St. Paul Harding HS) scored seven points with 11 rebounds -- his 10th double-digit rebounding effort of the season -- for the Auggies, and Jon Cassens (SO, Prior Lake, Minn.) scored seven points with eight assists, three steals and five rebounds.

Bethel (9-6 overall, 5-5 MIAC) was led by Tim Madson (JR, Redwood Falls, Minn./Redwood Valley HS), who scored 28 points with eight rebounds and three assists. He was the only Royal to score in double-figures; Mike Moberg (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Maple Grove HS) scored eight points with nine rebounds and six blocked shots, and Nick Otterson (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored six points.

Augsburg took advantage of 16 Bethel turnovers, scoring 23 points. Bethel managed 12 points off of 10 Augsburg miscues.

Augsburg returns to MIAC play on Wednesday (1/23) at 7:45 p.m., with a game at Carleton. Bethel is idle on Wednesday and returns to MIAC play on Saturday (1/26) at 3 p.m., with a game at Hamline.
