ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Craig Henry (JR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS), Donald Blunt (SO, Richfield, Minn.) and Joe Pierce (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) had three hits each, but the Augsburg College baseball team fell in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at the University of St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon at Koch Diamond.

St. Thomas (21-6 overall, 10-2 MIAC), ranked No. 13 nationally, edged Augsburg (16-16 overall, 7-7 MIAC) in both games, winning 7-5 in the opener and 2-0 in the second game.

Pierce went 3-for-4 with a triple in the first game, while Blunt went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and Henry went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Augsburg outhit St. Thomas by a 10-7 margin in the first game and led 5-4 after four-and-a-half innings, but the Tommies used a two-run homer by John Means in the bottom of the fifth inning, and a single run in the sixth, to take the lead.

In the second game, Augsburg pitcher Kristofer Ozga (SO, Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson HS) struck out three in a complete-game effort, but gave up single runs in the third and sixth innings to the Tommies. Augsburg was limited to five hits, while leaving six runners stranded on base.

Augsburg returns to MIAC play on Tuesday (4/21) at 2:30 p.m., with a doubleheader at St. John's.
