ST. PETER, Minn. -- Katie Gajewski (FY, Wasuau, Wis./Wausau East HS) recorded a shutout in goal with six saves, as her Augsburg College women's soccer team closed its season with a 0-0, two-overtime tie with Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

Augsburg (6-8-4 overall, 5-4-2 MIAC) outshot Gustavus (6-11-1 overall, 2-8-1 MIAC) by a 15-10 margin, but both goalkeepers claimed shutouts, as Gajewski claimed six saves for Augsburg and Chelsea Bayer had nine saves for Gustavus.

"It's a disappointing result, as we felt very good about the game going in," said Augsburg head coach Mike Navarre. "However, we lost some of our best attacking players to injury in the first half, which inhibited our ability to finish. Nevertheless, we had chances to win, just did not get it done."

Courtney Gamrath (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) and Carly Reimer (SO, Eagan, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) had three shots each for Augsburg.

"In some respects, it has been a tough season," Navarre said. "We lost some great players to injury and that hurt us, especially late in games as we finished 0-3-4 in overtime games. Nevertheless, we still had a winning record in the MIAC, which is a signifant accomplishment given the quality of the league."

The game marked the final collegiate contests for four seniors -- players Lacey Hoover (SR, Duluth, Minn./Central HS), Lisa Weniger (SR, Eagan, Minn./School of Environmental Studies HS), Gina Liddell-Westefeld (SR, Iowa City, Iowa), and student athletic training assistant Emily Sell, who played three seasons of soccer at Augsburg but was unable to play this year due to injury.

"I can't say enough about the seniors. Emily, Lisa, Lacey and Gina have been outstanding. They have given so much and grown into great leaders. I'm proud to have coached them and I know that both coaches and players will miss them," Navarre said. "Now we look forward to next year. The juniors are ready to lead and we have a solid core of committed and talented players who will work hard in the offseason to continue our program's ascension."
