MOORHEAD, Minn. -- In a battle of two of the top-ranked teams in NCAA Division III wrestling, host Concordia College-Moorhead claimed a 26-6 win over Augsburg College in a dual meet on Saturday at Memorial Auditorium.

Concordia (10-2 overall), ranked No. 2 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III national poll, claimed wins in eight bouts over No. 4-ranked Augsburg (5-3 overall), including two major-decision wins.

Augsburg's victories came from No. 2-ranked Matt Hechsel (JR, Apple Valley HS) at 197 pounds and top-ranked Chad Johnson (SR, Ferryville, Wis./De Soto HS) at heavyweight. Hechsel improved to 19-2 overall and 73-31 in his career with a 5-2 win over Delson Saintal at 197. 

Johnson claimed a 5-3 win over Concordia's No. 4-ranked Cody Kasprick in the only meeting of ranked wrestlers on the evening. Johnson is now 18-1 on the season and 123-14 in his Augsburg career. The two-time defending Division III national champion at heavyweight and a three-time All-American, Johnson has not lost to a Division III opponent since his first season at Augsburg, and is now 91-3 since the beginning of his sophomore campaign.

Augsburg's Mike Fuenffinger (JR, Hibbing, Minn.), ranked No. 2 nationally at 125, suffered a 3-2 loss to Gabe Foltz. The loss was only Fuenffinger's second of the season, falling to 16-2. Justin Bowland (SR, Foley, Minn.) suffered a 3-1, overtime loss to Brandon Haluptzok at 165.

Concordia's three other ranked wrestlers -- No. 3-ranked 133-pounder Jacoby Bergeron, No. 3-ranked 149-pounder Jake Long and No. 10-ranked 157-pounder Kyle LeDuc -- all claimed wins.

Augsburg returns to action next Friday (1/24) at 7 p.m., with a home dual meet against Division II Augustana (S.D.) at Si Melby Hall.
