TOURNAMENT RESULTS (TRACKWRESTLING)

OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- The Augsburg College wrestling team claimed five placewinners at the William Penn University Open on Saturday. No team results were kept at the open meet, which attracted wrestlers from 22 schools.

Rashad Kennedy (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) went 4-2 on the day to finish in fourth place at 149 pounds to claim the top individual finish for the Auggies. He posted decisions over Tre Rutz and Walker Marshall, both of Grand View (Iowa), as well as a major decision over Connor Christensen, also of Grand View.

At 133 pounds, Augsburg had two placewinners. Kirk Anderson (SO, Comstock, Minn./Barnesville HS) finished 2-2 on the day with two major decisions, claiming a victory over teammate Chad Bartschenfeld (JR, Amery, Wis./Amery HS) to finish in fifth place.

Tommy Teigen (JR, Ham Lake, Minn./Meadow Creek Christian HS) went 4-2 on the day to finish in fifth place at 174 pounds. James Goman (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Trinity-River Ridge HS) finished in sixth place at 125, as did Bartschenfeld at 133. Grant Parker (FY, Onalaska, Wis.) went 4-2 on the day at 157.

Augsburg returns to action on Sunday (1/5), when it travels to Northfield, Minn. to compete in a dual meet at St. Olaf College. Match time has been moved to 5:30 p.m.
