LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The No. 7-ranked Augsburg College wrestling team went 2-1 in its three dual meets at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Candlewood Suites Duals on Saturday at Mitchell Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg won eight of 10 bouts in its opening win over Dubuque, while claiming nine of 10 victories in the final win over Cornell. Loras had three pins and a major decision among its five wins over the Auggies in the middle match.
• Tommy Teigen (SR, Ham Lake, Minn./Meadow Creek Christian HS) claimed pins in all three of his victories on the day at 184 pounds, improving to 6-1 on the season. Five of his six wins are by pin.
• Defending 125-pound national champion Mike Fuenffinger (SR, Hibbing, Minn.), ranked No. 1 nationally, won all three of his matches, including by technical fall, to improve to 6-1 on the year. He outscored his opponents by a 46-11 margin on the day.
• Eric Hensel (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) also went 3-0 on the day at 174, with two pins, improving to 6-1 on the season. He had the quickest pin of the day for the Auggies, a 44-second win over Joe Butler of Loras.
• Will Keeter (SR, Twin Falls, Idaho) reached a milestone on Saturday, picking up his 100th career win with a 2-1 performance. The No. 5-ranked wrestler nationally at 149, Keeter is now 5-2 on the season and 101-48 in his career.
• Matt Hechsel (SR, Apple Valley, Minn.), ranked No. 5 nationally at 197, went 2-1 on the day with a pin, improving to 5-2 on the season and 91-39 on his career.
• Chad Bartschenfeld (SR, Amery, Wis.), ranked No. 8 nationally at 133, went 2-1 on the day, including a 6-0 win over No. 10-ranked Phillip Opelt of Cornell.
• Also going 2-1 on the day were 141-pounder Marcus Hamer (SO, Kimball, Minn.), 157-pounder Gable Frandsen (FY, Ellsworth, Wis.) and 165-pounder Austin Boniface (SO, Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake HS). All three wrestlers are now 5-2 on the season.
• As a team, Augsburg is ranked No. 7 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III national poll.
