Auggies blanked by Colorado College

IRVING, Texas -- The Augsburg College women's lacrosse team suffered a 23-0 loss to Colorado College in a neutral-site contest on Saturday afternoon at the University of Dallas.

Colorado College (3-1) outshot Augsburg (3-2) by a 35-3 margin, incluidng a 13-0 advantage in the second half. The Tigers also claimed 25 ground balls to Augsburg's 13, and converted 9-of-10 clears, compared to 5-of-11 for Augsburg in the game. The Tigers built a 14-0 lead at halftime, outshooting Augsburg by a 22-3 margin.

Rachel Frantz (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS), Kayla Fuechtmann (FY, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) and Abigail Dickinson (FY, Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams HS) had shots for Augsburg in the game. Ashley Eliason (FY, New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) recorded seven saves in goal for the Auggies. Madeline Scherer scored five goals for Colorado College, while Iris Rayburn scored three goals and Colleen Orr, Madeline Pitkin and Dylan Voneiff scored two goals each.

Augsburg finishes its three-game trip to Texas on Sunday (3/2) at 10 a.m., when it has a game at the University of Dallas.
