Dezera Sieracki (FY, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS) scored both Augsburg College goals, but the Auggies dropped a 16-2 decision to host Concordia University-Wisconsin in a women's lacrosse contest on Wednesday afternoon.
Augsburg (3-4 overall) was outshot by a 41-13 margin by Concordia (2-0 overall). The Falcons also converted 13-of-19 clearing opportunities, compared to 12-of-31 for Augsburg. Concordia also had 44 ground balls to Augsburg's 27 and 14 draw controls to Augsburg's six in the game.
Sieracki scored her first goal of the game with 25:06 left in the first half, then added her second goal with 18:12 remaining in the opening stanza. Concordia built a 10-2 lead at halftime, then scored six more goals in the second half.
Sammi Reiter had four goals for Concordia, while Hayley Peppers and Aly Pinkos had three goals each. Emily Heckendorf had two goals and three assists, and Sabrina Boehlke added two goals and an assist.
Brianna Schulz (SO, Prior Lake, Minn.), a starting goalie for the Augsburg women's hockey team, made her first collegiate lacrosse start in goal and had nine saves in the first half.
Ashley Eliason (FY, New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) had eight saves in the second half. Veronika Metanova had six saves for Concordia.
Sieracki had four shots for the Auggies, while
Kayla Fuechtmann (FY, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) had three shots and
Abigail Dickinson (FY, Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams HS) had two shots.
Savannah Seeger (FY, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) and
Abi Rodstein (SO, Eagan, Minn.) had two draw controls apiece for the Auggies.
Augsburg continues its Spring Break trip on Thursday (3/20) at 7 p.m., with a game at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.
