Auggies fall to Concordia-Wisconsin

BOXSCORE MINNEAPOLIS -- Helena Nguyen (FY, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) led the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team with four goals in a 24-8 loss to Concordia University-Wisconsin at Edor Nelson field on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Nguyen put the Auggies on the board with an unassisted goal at the 27:15 mark and led the Auggies with four goals in the game.
• Delaney Everett (FY, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored two goals and an assist for the Auggies.
• Jesse Heusinkveld (FY, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) claimed a goal and an assist, while Shelby Brion (SO, Clearwater, Minn./Monticello HS) scored a goal and Natalie Shaw (SO, Robbinsdale, Minn./Cooper HS) picked up an assist.
• Rachel Frantz (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) led the Auggies with three draw controls, while Nguyen, Everett and Ashley Pettipiece (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) had two apeice.
• Augsburg had 19 ground balls to Concordia's 17.
• Goalie Marissa Guillou (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had 10 saves in the loss.

FOR THE FOES
• Concordia-Wis. is the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference champion this season.
• Allison Kurek led all players with six goals, while Hayley Peppers scored five goals.
• Veroik Metanova had 10 saves in goal.
