Mother Nature playing havoc with Auggie baseball schedule

MINNEAPOLIS -- Mother Nature has not been kind to spring sports in the Upper Midwest, especially the region's baseball teams. The anticipated wintry weather for this weekend has claimed three more Augsburg University baseball doubleheaders, with two postponed and one cancelled.

Augsburg's MIAC doubleheaders at Carleton, scheduled for Saturday (4/13), and against Concordia on Sunday (4/14) at Parade Stadium, have both been postponed. The Carleton doubleheader is now scheduled to be played on Monday, April 30 starting at 2:30 p.m. in Northfield, Minn. No rescheduling date has been set for Concordia doubleheader, which has now been postponed three times from its original March 31 date.

Augsburg's nonconference doubleheader against Northwestern-St. Paul, scheduled for next Thursday (4/19), has been cancelled and will not be made up, so both teams would have another potential date for any rescheduled conference doubleheaders, according to Augsburg coach Keith Bateman.

With the unpredictability of spring weather, always check online or the Augsburg athletics Twitter feed (@AugsburgAuggies) before you depart to check on possible postponements or cancellations.
