MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University men's basketball team had three players record double-doubles and five finish in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Auggies fell to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival University of St. Thomas 112-105 in three overtimes on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game was a wild one that featured 13 tied scores and 10 lead changes in one of the longest games in Augsburg men's basketball history. At the end of regulation, Augsburg's
Matt Carik (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) hit huge a three-pointer with three seconds remaining to force the first overtime. The end of the first overtime was the Tommies turn to hit a basket with one second remaining to force a second overtime. Augsburg looked to have it won at the end of the second overtime, but was only able to convert on 1-of-2 at the free throw line and fouled St. Thomas with four seconds remaining. The Tommies made both free throws and forced a third overtime. In the final extra session, the Auggies trailed 106-102 with 26 seconds to play, but St. Thomas was able to hit 6-for-6 from the free throw line to seal the victory.

Booker Coplin (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) led the Auggies with 34 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists and four blocked shots. This was his fourth game this season scoring 30-plus points, while the 15 rebounds and eight assists both tie a season-best.

Matt Carik (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS), who scored 15-points and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds, while tying a career-best with six assists. Carik was 4-of-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from three point range.
• Having a career-best performance for the Auggies wasÂ
Carter Duncan (JR, Chisago City, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS). He posted his first Augsburg double-double, a 12-point, 13-rebound effort, and added a career best five assists. He was 6-for-11 from the field, and his eight offensive rebounds were crucial for Augsburg down the stretch.

Henry Mulligan (JR, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) andÂ
Martin Mitchell (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) finished 5-of-10 from three point range. Mulligan scored a career-high 21 points and added a career-best five assists. Mitchell scored 17 points, all of which came in the second-half and overtime sessions.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 45.3 percent (39-of-86) from the field, and 48.6 percent (18-of-37) from three point range. The Tommies converted on 45.7 percent (37-of-81) from the field and 30.3 percent (9-of-30) from three point range.
• Augsburg claimed a 51-45 advantage on the boards, but St. Thomas was able to shoot 29-of-33 from the free throw line, while the Auggies only were able to get 12 free throw attempts and converted on nine.
FOR THE FOES
• St. Thomas finished with five players in double figures, led by a game-high 37 points from Anders Nelson.
• Connor Bair added a 28-point, 14-rebound double-double for the Tommies.
