Give to the Max to support Augsburg athletics!

2020 AUGSBURG GIVE TO THE MAX PAGE

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University athletics fans can give to one of several projects to help support the university and its intercollegiate athletic programs from now until Thursday, Nov. 19 for the annual Minnesota Give To The Max project.

From Nov. 1 to Nov. 19, you can give to any of the participating projects, and your gift to any of these projects counts toward Augsburg's Give to the Max fundraising totals. There are a total of 40 projects supported by Augsburg and its alumni, faculty and staff, including 16 intercollegiate athletic projects. Check out all the Augsburg projects at the site linked here.

Here is a list of Augsburg intercollegiate athletics-related projects; click on the links to give or for more information.
AUGSBURG ATHLETICS - WOMEN'S LOCKER ROOM PROJECT
We are excited to be fundraising for Phase 2 of our Si Melby Hall renovation, updating our Women's Locker Rooms. The improved space will feature 10 separate locker rooms, renovated showers, and improved laundry facilities. We want each of our female student-athletes to have a private team locker room with their own personal locker all four years they compete at Augsburg.

We are happy to announce we have an anonymous $10,000 match for this year's Give to the Max Day. That means your donation will be worth double! Thank you for your support of Augsburg Athletics and Go Auggies!
AUGSBURG ARCHIVES - HISTORIC FOOTBALL FILMS PROJECT
The Augsburg University Archives have digitized part of our historic football films, but we still have more to do! Pulled from the attic in Si Melby Hall, our collection of historic athletics films focus on football and date from the 1940s to the 1980s.This year, we have a goal of raising $3,000 to preserve, digitize, and share more of these films online. To be digitized, each film must be played in real time by a trained professional using state-of-the-art equipment. Our history is worth it.

Donations that take us beyond $3,000 will support additional digitization projects. Thank you for helping us preserve Augsburg's history!
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Here at Augsburg, we have a Strength and Conditioning program that benefits the many athletes we are so honored to work with daily. We service all teams throughout the year, working with them through all phases of their athletic seasons and careers. Strength and conditioning is not only a tool that can make an athlete perform better at their prospective sport, but also a tool that can be used to teach life lessons that will help improve all aspects of life outside of school, in their communities, personal life, and work environment.

We are always looking for ways to improve the student experience here at Augsburg University. With such high volume and usage of our fitness center facility, constant upgrades and maintenance are needed. These upgrades not only make the facility a safe place to train, but also provide a better experience for the student athletes, which benefits them on and off the field. This fundraiser is unique in a sense that as a strength program, we are not looking to benefit just one team, but our purpose for fundraising is to benefit the athletic department as a whole. Please help us in creating the best possible environment for our student-athletes and donate to us today!
BASEBALL
Augsburg University baseball players are looking forward to bringing home the MIAC baseball title this spring! Part of this championship process is our annual spring trip to Tucson, Ariz., for a week full of varsity and reserve games. We always love the support from our Augsburg Baseball community who help make the trip the best experience possible for each player.

We recognize the uncertainty with travel this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If we cannot travel this spring, all proceeds of our Give to the Max Day fundraiser would go to program needs that directly benefit our players. Thank you for your support and go Auggies!
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
We need to raise the level of support for our program and we cannot do it without your help. Our goal of $7,500 is focused on addressing the quality of the basketball experience for our players. We need to reduce the out-of-pocket expenses they incur to play in our program.

The Augsburg Women's Basketball team has played in the last two MIAC championship games and our conference record over the past two seasons is one game away from the best in the league. We want to stay among the top programs but we seriously need your help. It is expensive to give our players the kinds of opportunities they need to excel. Our roster has expanded as players continue to be drawn to our message. We expect almost 20 players on our roster this season. Just basic out-of-pocket expenses for this group will exceed $5,000.

Please consider a donation to our program this year, and be assured your money with directly impact the experience of our players.
FOOTBALL
Augsburg Football is dedicated to the success and safety of all of our student-athletes. Top-of-the-line helmets are vital in achieving this goal. Our goal is to replace half of the helmets that we currently have in circulation, providing all student-athletes with a new helmet. Thanks to donors like you, we are able to create an athletic environment built around safety and success!
MEN'S/WOMEN'S GOLF
The Augsburg Golf teams have an exciting opportunity for growth for many years to come! Last year, Augsburg Athletics opened a new training room for our student-athletes, and that opened up the old training room space.  Fortunately, the golf teams have been given that space as a team room! The vision is to convert that space into a first-class team room and training area that our players will enjoy for years to come. The project will include a remodel, Trackman simulator, putting technology, lockers, a study table and more. This is a big project, and an important one for the future growth of the program. The benefits will include player development, recruiting, player experience and more. Thank you for your consideration to become a partner with this project. If you'd like to write a check for $75,000 -- which would cover the entire room makeover -- that would be amazing, but no amount is too small. All gifts from this project will go towards new lockers for our teams, and we are grateful to launch this project with GTTM this year. Go Auggies!
MEN'S HOCKEY
For this year's Give to the Max Day, Augsburg Men's Hockey is raising funds for two purposes. First, we wish to have a sponsor for every locker within our locker room. Sponsored lockers give our athletes a connection to the history of Auggie Men's Hockey. With the players, coaches, friends, and family of the championship teams that came before us. A gift of $150 or more will allow you to sponsor a locker.

Second, we are building a fund that will allow the team to participate in impactful leadership programming and team-building exercises. These activities help our team grow closer and push our athletes to be better on and off the ice.

We thank you for your continued support of the Augsburg Men's Hockey program. Go Auggies!
WOMEN'S HOCKEY
Help us celebrate 25 years of Augsburg Women's Hockey! Augsburg Women's Hockey is the oldest NCAA women's hockey program in the state of Minnesota, with a proud tradition and a bright future. We want to celebrate everyone who has contributed in the past 25 years, and ensure that the next 25 are even better. We had hoped to be able to gather in person, but COVID is making that challenging. We are all dealing with so much, including illness, economic hardship, social isolation, uncertainty, stress and much more. We are grateful for our experience in college athletics that provides us with the skills to help cope, and friendships we can lean on when times are tough.

Our program has made the MIAC playoffs and been seeded No. 3 or higher the last five years. We've made the MIAC playoff championship game two out of the last four years. Last season we had a historic year -- claiming the best MIAC record in program history, tying the program's best overall record, finishing 10th in the country AND earning a 3.65 team GPA for the year!

Recently, we have been so close to accomplishing our ultimate goal -- a MIAC championship. We strongly believe that our program functions like a championship team. We pride ourselves on always being the hardest working team, playing with passion and living up to our values -- United. Devoted. Relentless. We ensure that every young woman who is a part of our program grows in all areas of her life, enjoys their experience, and is thoroughly prepared for the next part of their lives and professional careers.

This year we are fundraising to mark 25 years of Augsburg Women's Hockey history and lay the foundation for the next 25. All donations will go to funding our equipment needs, video supplies, team-building and leadership activities, travel and assistant coaches. We couldn't be the team or program we are today without the support of our families, friends, alumni and fans. To all who donate -- THANK YOU!
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
We are raising funds to help provide phenomenal opportunities for our women's lacrosse athletes. Funds will be utilized for rain gear, team bonding opportunities and trips throughout our season. Creating a team-first mentality is at the top of our goals as coaches, and we're asking for your help to foster this environments through outside opportunities.
MEN'S SOCCER
The Need -- The Augsburg Men's Soccer team uses a lot of information to make informed decisions. We are always looking for ways to improve -- just a little bit each day. Now that we are training three times a week inside our dome, we are looking for a camera system that can capture our training and intrasquad scrimmages -- one that fits inside the dome giving us enough height to analyze, but doesn't take up a lot of space or require an operator. The Veo Camera Platform will allow for us to film inside the dome. It does not require an operator -- it simply follows play.

• Allows players to learn from and analyze their performance after each session
• Provides convenient access to information on their phone
• Keeps a coach on the field instead of behind a camera -- and during COVID we have limited number of people allowed in our facility, an independent camera operator is not an option at this time
• Tripod for indoor use and a camera mount for the press box once the dome comes down for future outdoor use

The cost to purchase the camera and tripod and the software license needed for our players to use the systems is around $2,800. Any money raised above the $2,800 needed will go directly to the Men's Soccer Endowment to support the long term health and stability of the program.

About Augsburg Men's Soccer -- For more than 50 years, Augsburg Men's Soccer has provided a unique experience both on and off the field (NCAA Tournaments, International Travel, Canoe Trips, Community Service, Father-Son Mentorship, Paintball, etc.). We've accomplished all of this with talented, driven, and dedicated players, a humble budget, and generous support from students, alumni, parents, and friends. Our program prides itself on being inclusive, and our 2020 roster reflects both our program values and Augsburg's commitment to intentional diversity.

The Numbers -- Your financial support will greatly impact our student-athletes by:
• Providing stability an continuity in player experiences during COVID19
• Providing the most professional environment possible, including player safety
• Providing opportunity for self-reflection as a soccer player and human being
• Growing our very young, but robust Men's Soccer Endowment
WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Augsburg University Women's Soccer program is taking strides to become the best we can possibly be both on the field and off the field as young women and aspiring leaders.

Last year with the help of GTMD, we raised close to $3,000 that went towards additional equipment and gear to support our first every large roster of 30 incredible female student-athletes! This year for Give to the Max day, your support in raising the bar with our goal of $3,500 will assist us in fundraising for our team trip to Central America where we challenge ourselves to deepen our intercultural competence and embrace new culture.

If our trip needs to be postponed due to COVID-19, these funds will support our team by providing resources to continue to raise and elevate our environment in our continued quest to compete as continued MIAC champions and make a deep run in the NCAA Division III Tournament!
SOFTBALL
Hello Auggie Softball supporters! The past six months have been nothing short of a whirlwind. From a canceled season, to social distancing, to hybrid classes this semester, our student-athletes have weathered anything that has been thrown at them. We want to ensure that the Augsburg Softball experience our athletes have this season is top-notch, and this is where you can help.

With your donation to the Augsburg Softball Fund, you will be a part of molding the 2021 Augsburg Softball season into one that will have a lasting impact on our student-athletes. You will help ensure that the standards that have been set throughout our program, as well as the MIAC, are maintained by providing equipment, technology, training and travel to all student-athletes in the program.

Please help us reach our goal of $5,000. Augsburg Softball cannot thank you enough for your support during Give To The Max Day! GO AUGGIES!
VOLLEYBALL
The Augsburg experience looks different this fall, but an essential Auggie value -- community -- still rings true in the quieter halls, Zoom classes, and appointment-only athletic training facilities. Our students are being cared for at the highest level, and we hope they are able to walk away from this challenging time stronger, more connected, and appreciative of a future time where high-fives will occur on the court again.

Our competition season is scheduled for February to March. We will play a conference-only schedule and be allowed to do so without using any student-athlete eligibility. This is great news for our players, as we have a very talented team that wants the  chance to achieve the highest of goals. Your support through GTTM & joining our Match Point Volleyball Club will help us reach these goals. Financial security in hiring of assistant coaches, travel decisions, and the ability to provide the best experience possible for our student athletes is crucial in coming back stronger than ever in 2021.

Thank you for your support!  Go Auggies!
MEN'S WRESTLING
Your donations help the Augsburg Men's Wrestling program:
1.) Send the entire team to defend our NCAA Division III National Tournament championship in La Crosse, Wis.
2.) Fund our Assistant Coaches, which gives each of our wrestlers the individual attention of a personal coach to support them in their academics, social life and on the wrestling mat.
WOMEN'S WRESTLING
This year we are hoping to raise money to support our Augsburg Women's Wrestling fundraiser! We will use our funds to help with airplane travel, women's wrestling-specific gear, and supplemental training equipment. Thanks to donors like you we are able to create the best educational experience for our student-athletes. Thank you for your support!
