Six Auggies named CSC Academic All-District Men's At-Large

MINNEAPOLIS -- Six Augsburg University student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team, it was announced this week.

Honored for the second straight year are men's wrestlers Cole Becker (SR, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) and Brandt Bombard (SR, North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS). Fellow Auggie wrestlers Matthew Randolph (SO, Jordan, Minn./Jordan HS (Scott West)) and Ethan Winkelman (SO, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) were named to the Academic All-District team, along with men's hockey players Peyton Hanson (SR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) and Zachary Reim (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Gentry Academy HS). Reim is also a member of Augsburg's men's golf team. All six Auggies will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members and announced on July 8.

Cole BeckerA finance major with a 3.95 grade-point average, Becker has earned National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Scholar All-America honors all four years of his career. He earned his first career All-America honor on the wrestling mat this season, finishing in eighth place as an unseeded wrestler at 141 pounds at the NCAA Division III National Championships. Becker finished his senior season with a 31-9 record, with three pins, 10 technical falls and four major decisions.

A two-time NCAA Division III national tournament qualifier, Becker finished his collegiate career with a 100-24 record, with 11 pins, 20 technical falls and 26 major decisions.

Brandt BombardA management major with a 3.92 GPA, Bombard is a two-time NWCA Division III Scholar All-American. He earned his second straight All-America honor in wrestling this season, finishing fourth at 184 pounds at the NCAA Division III National Championships. He finished his senior campaign with a 29-6 record, with eight pins, a technical fall and seven major decisions.

A two-time NCAA Division III national tournament qualifier, Bombard finished second at the 2025 national championships at 184 pounds. He finished his college career with an 83-29 record, with 19 pins, two technical falls and 16 major decisions. 

Peyton HansonA finance major with a 3.87 GPA, Hanson will earn his third Academic All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honor in men's hockey this spring. He also earned American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholar honors in 2023-24. A forward, Hanson was named to the All-MIAC squad this season, his first conference postseason honor on the ice. 

Hanson claimed a team-high 14 goals and 30 points this season, with his 16 assists third-best on the team. He had four power-play goals, three shorthanded goals and three game-winning goals on the season, with a team-best plus-11 plus-minus rating. Hanson's 14 goals were fourth-most among MIAC players in overall statistics, with his 16 assists 10th-most and 30 points tied for third-most. He had a goal or assist in 16 of his 25 games this season, with nine multi-point games. Playing in 102 career games, Hanson finished his Auggie career with 23 goals and 37 assists for 60 points, with five power-play goals, three shorthanded goals, five game-winning goals and a plus-16 plus-minus rating.

Matthew RandolphA computer science major with a 4.00 GPA, Randolph is a two-time NWCA Division III Scholar All-American. He earned his second straight All-America honor in wrestling this season, finishing fifth at 149 pounds at the NCAA Division III National Championships. He finished his sophomore season with a 28-4 record, with four pins, three technical falls and five major decisions.

A two-time NCAA Division III national tournament qualifier, Randolph finished in fourth place at the 2025 national championships at 149 pounds. In two seasons as an Auggie, Randolph has a 59-8 career record, with eight pins, nine technical falls and 12 major decisions.

Zachary ReimA finance major with a 4.00 GPA, Reim will earn his first Academic All-MIAC honor in men's hockey and men's golf this spring. He earned All-MIAC honors in hockey for the first time this season as a defender, leading the Auggies with 19 assists, adding a power-play goal for a 20-point season. He had a point in 15 of his 25 games this season, with five multi-point games. Reim's 19 assists were fourth-most among MIAC players, with his 20 points tied for 15th-most. In 50 career games in two seasons as an Auggie, Reim has three goals and 24 assists for 27 points, with one power-play goal.

In golf, Reim finished second on the team in scoring this season, finishing with a 78.7 stroke average in 15 rounds (1,180 strokes) and a .492 (258-266) win-loss percentage. He has competed in 18 rounds in his college career, with a 79.0 career stroke average (1,422 strokes) and a .450 (282-344) win-loss percentage.

Ethan WinkelmanA finance major with a 3.64 GPA, Winkelman is a two-time NWCA Division III Scholar All-American. He earned his first All-American honor in wrestling in his first trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships this season, finishing third nationally at 197 pounds. He finished his sophomore season with a 33-5 record, with 15 pins, five technical falls and four major decisions.

In his two Augsburg campaigns, Winkelman has a 55-7 career record, with 25 pins, nine technical falls and 10 major decisions.
 
The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the CSC Academic All-America program. The At-Large program covers student-athletes in 10 NCAA women's sports, including Augsburg sports golf, ice hockey and wrestling. Nominated by athletic communication professionals at their schools, student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Schools are limited to nominate six student-athletes per-gender for the At-Large ballot. Select Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.

The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
