2021 AUGSBURG GIVE TO THE MAX PAGE

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University athletics fans can give to one of several projects to help support the university and its intercollegiate athletic programs from now until Thursday, Nov. 18 for the annual Minnesota Give To The Max project.

From now until Nov. 18, you can give to any of the participating projects, and your gift to any of these projects counts toward Augsburg's Give to the Max fundraising totals. There are a total of 43 projects supported by Augsburg and its alumni, faculty and staff, including 16 intercollegiate athletic projects. Check out all the Augsburg projects at the site linked here.

Here is a list of Augsburg intercollegiate athletics-related projects; click on the links to give or for more information.
AUGSBURG ATHLETICS - WOMEN'S LOCKER ROOM PROJECT
We've been fundraising for two years now for our new Women's Locker Rooms. We currently have approximately 1 million dollars in cash and pledges in for this 1.3 million dollar project. The improved space will feature 10 separate locker rooms, renovated showers, and improved laundry facilities. We want each of our female student-athletes to have a private team locker room with their own personal locker all four years they compete at Augsburg. We hope you will consider a gift to our Women's Locker Room project. Go Auggies!
BASEBALL
Augsburg University baseball players are looking forward to having a successful season this upcoming Spring! Part of this process is our annual spring trip to Tucson, Arizona for a week full of varsity and reserve games. We always love the support from our Augsburg Baseball community who help make the trip the best experience possible for each player.

This trip is an experience of a lifetime for the players and the program. We are very confident that the trip will take place this year. If for some reason, we cannot travel this spring because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all proceeds of our Give to the Max Day fundraiser would directly benefit our players. Thank you for your support and go Auggies!

MEN'S WRESTLING
Your donations help the Augsburg Wrestling Program:

1.) Send the entire team to defend our 2019 NCAA DIII National Tournament Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 11th and 12th.

2.) Fund our Assistant Coaches which gives each of our wrestlers the individual attention of a personal coach to support them in their academics, social life and on the wrestling mat.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY
We set out to raise $25,000 in one year in honor of 25 years of Augsburg Women's Hockey.  We crushed that goal and hit the target in the spring of 2021!  What do you do when you meet a goal?  Set a new one!  We want to raise $10,000 during this GTMD21 campaign to ensure that the next 10 years are as great as the past 25 years have been.  We will continue to invest in our locker room remodel that includes: redesigning the space, new hockey-specific wood lockers, modern media capabilities, more storage, new graphics and more. We also will be able to continue to provide a first class experience for our student athletes, and make sure they are equipped, fueled, and have all the resources they need to succeed on the ice and off.

Help us do that by supporting this effort.  There's still time to be a part of locker project sponsorship or ANY amount helps!

Giving Levels
$1,000 - Locker Sponsor (permanent) - Name engraved on a permanent plaque on display in locker room
$250 - Locker Sponsor (two-year) - Name displayed in locker room

MEN'S HOCKEY
Your donations help the Augsburg Hockey Program:

  1. Fund additional Assistant Coaches
  2. New and Improved Video Editing Capabilities for Game Film
  3. Post Practice and Pre/Post Game Nutrition
  4. Player Equipment and Apparel
  5. Team Equipment (Travel Bags, Skate Sharpener and Glove Dryer)
  6. Locker Room Area Graphics
  7. Leadership Development Program including a Book Study and Guest Speakers

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Our Augsburg Women's Basketball Team is asking you to consider making a donation during Minnesota's Give to the Max

We are interested each year in playing top teams outside of our region, but travel expenses and recent budget restraints make that tough! This year our team will take a trip to Chicago to play a game, and between travel, hotel stay, and food while we are there, the cost of that trip for one game will exceed $8,000. Our program has played in the last 2 MIAC championship games and our conference record over the past two full seasons is the best in the league at 44-8. We want to stay among the top programs but we seriously need your help. Our goal during this fundraising campaign of $5,000 will not only allow us to travel to those out of region contests, but is also focused on addressing the quality of the basketball experience for our players. We want to reduce their out of pocket expenses for travel, and necessary gear to get through the season.

We hope you can help. Your generosity truly makes a difference and is sincerely appreciated.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Dear Auggie Basketball Alumni, Parents, and Friends,

This year brings with it plenty of excitement and high expectations as we return plenty of experience to go along with 95% of our scoring and 80% of our rebounding from last year's team. All-Conference senior guard, Matt Carik is back for his 5th season and has begun his first semester of graduate school. Carik averaged 14.6 ppg last year and returns along with leading scorer Joe Palmer, who average 18.4 ppg and Jack Sorenson (14ppg).

We plan to represent Augsburg with a pledge to blue-collar hard work, sacrifice and a commitment to the entire Augsburg community. Through our determination, we remain dedicated to turning Augsburg Men's Basketball into a nationally competitive power.

Over the past 12 seasons, our program has produced the second highest win total in the MIAC. This is a statistic we're all very proud of, and one that we intend to continue to build upon. In order for us to achieve the goals we've set, we ask you to continue to support the Augsburg Men's Basketball Family. Due to increased support in recent years, we've been able to travel to various locations around the United States, giving our student-athletes valuable experiences they will cherish for a lifetime. This season we are traveling to Florida for the Daytona Beach Shootout in December for two games.

A donation of $50 or more makes you a member of the Auggie Backcourt Club, while $150 or more sponsors a locker with an engraved plaque in our team room for the season. Contact Assistant Coach Charlie Scott (scottc@augsburg.edu) for more info. Thank you so much for your support and we hope to see you in Si Melby this season.

GO AUGGIES!

FOOTBALL
Our #1 priority as coaches here at Augsburg University is the safety of our student-athletes. Last year we had great success in our fundraiser to purchase 30 new Schutt F7 helmets. This year we are increasing this goal due to our increase of athletes! Join us in trying to get every single football player in a new F7 helmet!
MEN'S SOCCER
For more than 50 years, Augsburg Men's Soccer has provided a unique experience both on-and-off the field (NCAA Tournaments, International Travel, Canoe Trips, Community Service, Father-Son Mentorship, Take it to the Next Level with Volleyball Rick, Whirleyball, etc.). We've accomplished all of this with talented, driven, and dedicated players, a humble budget, and generous support from students, alumni, parents, and friends.

15 months ago, we raised $10,000 from 122 donors to help support specific needs of our program. Well...not much has chanced in regard to institutional funding since then, in fact it's gone the other way (expectedly due to COVID related cuts). We have little control over our operating budget, but we all have a say in how we can support the program above any institutional allocation.

We need your help again! Please consider making a gift during this Give to the Max Day campaign to help us provide the players with the best, most professional experience we can provide.

It is time to renew our contracts with our VX Sports Monitoring System and Video Analysis System. The two systems allow players, to use our already purchased vests (which also need to be replaced after four years of use):

  • To track their every movement: distance, speed, # of accelerations, heart rate, etc.
  • Use the platforms to reflect and receive feedback to increase their performance goals and growth
  • To conveniently access information on their phone on and off campus to prepare for training and games

VX Sport GPS Monitoring software and support: $3,200
Replacement VX Sport Vests: $1,400
Video Analysis system: $1,500

Endowment: When I launched the MSC Endowment in the fall of 2019, I had a goal of raising $100,000 to support the long term health of the program. We currently have just under $86,000 in hand and an additional $9,000 in committed money, leaving us just $5,000 short of our initial $100K goal. Any funds raised over the $6,100 needed will go directly to the Men's Soccer Endowment to support the long term health and stability of the program.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Give to the Max serves as our annual campaign to raise money for the Augsburg Women's Soccer program. Our Give to the Max Day helps us maintain our position as a leader in MIAC Women's Soccer. Gifts directly support the team through providing for equipment, technology, training, and travel. This year we are specifically using our Give to the Max funds to offset the cost of our trip to Costa Rica in March 2022. For many of the players our trip abroad represents their first time out of the United States. Our trips are more than just sight-seeing and soccer. We complete inter-cultural development exercises and inventories prior to departure and create experiences for the players to engage with local communities abroad. For example, in 2018 we partnered with FC Barcelona's outreach program to conduct a clinic for disadvantaged children. Meanwhile, during our 2014 trip to Nicaragua we worked with local organizations such as Nica Hope and Casa Alianza that are dedicated to enriching the lives of impoverished and disadvantaged children in Nicaragua. By reducing the cost of our Costa Rica trip your gift helps our student-athletes expand their compassion and gratitude, ultimately becoming better versions of themselves.
SOFTBALL
Hello Auggie Softball supporters!

We are SO excited to be able to travel down to Florida this year for our spring trip and need your help to get down there. We are looking to raise money to be able to make this trip memorable for our team - something that the majority of the team has not been able to experience. This trip is essential to our team's success as we play a quarter of our schedule - 10 games - while down in Florida and will give us a chance to compete with high caliber teams before we begin MIAC play.

With a contribution to the Augsburg Softball Fund, you will help guarantee an impactful experience for the 2022 team and help us prepare for conference competition. We appreciate each of our donors participating in our mission to raise $5,000 during Give to the Max Day!

Go Auggies!

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
I am here with you all today to introduce this year's Augsburg Strength and Conditioning Give to the Max campaign. As a strength and conditioning department, we are here to share with you why this campaign is so important not only to us, but even more to our athletes. As some of you may know, we work year around with all Varsity sports here at Augsburg University. With new challenges arising yearly, including the COVID 19 Pandemic, it has been a difficult time, but never the less, we worked to serve as a sanctuary for our athletes during these uncertain times. When playing seasons and practices were interrupted or canceled, we found creative ways to not only give the athletes some normalcy and structure, but provide a safe and healthy training environment. We wanted to voice over these clips so you can see first hand what are program is all about, the changes we made during these past years, and how we adapted to continue to serve the student athletes.  We are asking for contributions to our campaign and we hope that you share with friends, because our campaign us unique, and  will benefit every sports team here on campus. As strength and conditioning coaches, we recognize that without the athletes, there is no us. We work to serve them, and not only to prepare them for their given sport in many ways, but to build relationships in hope that we can teach and inspire them to become the best of people when their time here is done. These athletes have been through trials and tribulations during unprecedented times, but have still managed to come out on top, and they deserve the best. We would appreciate it so much if you would help us reach these goals, and contribute to our give to the max campaign.
MEN'S/WOMEN'S GOLF
The Augsburg golf teams are building a team room.  Much work has been done but there is more to do.  We want to add a Trackman simulator, graphics, furniture and more.  Building this team room will allow us to improve player development, team building and recruiting for years to come!  Thank you for helping Auggie golf go to the next level!
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
We are raising funds to help provide phenomenal opportunities for our women's lacrosse athletes.  Funds this year will be used to purchase PARKAS for our athletes to utilize throughout our season. If you've ever experienced a Minnesota spring you know how necessary these are!
VOLLEYBALL
Thank you for your support of the Auggie Volleyball Program.  Donations to our program lend incredible support in providing a first-class experience for our student-athletes.

This year our coaching staff is looking to launch a leadership and career training program for the team; this training program will not only strengthen the mental toughness and leadership in the gym, but will also serve as a launchpad for our players as they begin to navigate life and vocation after college.  Funds will assist us in acquiring materials and speakers for this training program.

Our team is also beginning to fundraise for a future international trip.  We are considering traveling to Croatia in May of 2022, but with Covid uncertainty the trip will likely be delayed until 2023.

THANK YOU for your donation!  Go AUGGIES!

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING
We look forward to growing our program to be as successful as other teams in the Augsburg Athletic Department. We are excited with the continual progress of the swimming and diving program that the Augsburg community, parents and alumni can be proud of.
