ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- Outgained by a 440-to-284 margin in total offense in the game, the Augsburg University football team dropped a 45-14 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Skyline Division decision at Bethel University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bethel, ranked No. 14 nationally in both the D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association Division III national polls, scored on eight of its 11 drives in three-and-a-half quarters, scoring six touchdowns with a field goal. Bethel averaged 7.5 yards per-play (440 yards on 59 plays), compared to 4.1 yards per-play (284 yards on 69 plays) for Augsburg.

Cade Sheehan (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) threw a 17-yard, second-quarter touchdown pass to
Braden Tretter (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) for Augsburg, and backup quarterback
Caleb Kasa (FY, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) threw a one-yard scoring pass to
Jordan Doe (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) in the final minute of the game, the first collegiate touchdown pass and touchdown reception for each.
• Sheehan completed 16-of-26 passes for 114 yards, with Tretter catching four passes for 42 yards, and
Dominic Smith (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) catching seven passes for 56 yards. Playing on Augsburg's final drive of the game, Kasa completed 6-of-11 passes for 72 yards.

Tre Lee (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) rushed 13 times for 45 yards for the Auggies.
• Defensively,
Justin Tverberg (SO, Farmington, Minn./Hastings HS),
Jaylan Lomax (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Tramone Nevels (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) had seven tackles (four solo) apiece. Lomax and Nevels also had a pass breakup each.
FOR THE FOES
• Bryce Kunkle gained 135 yards on 19 rushes, with a touchdown, to lead Bethel. Joey Kidder caught five passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
• Quarterback Jaran Roste completed 12-of-15 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns.
• Nate Farm had six tackles (four solo) to lead the Bethel defense.
UP NEXT
• As the No. 3 seed in the Skyline Division, Augsburg will host St. Olaf, the No. 3 seed in the Northwoods Division, in a MIAC Championship Week game next Saturday (11/13) at 1 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
The teams met on Oct. 28, with Augsburg claiming a 56-28 victory.
• Bethel will host Saint John's next Saturday at 1 p.m., with the winner claiming the MIAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III national playoffs.
