FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Claiming five individual titles and 17 top-eight finishes, the Augsburg University men's wrestling team dominated in winning the Citrus Invitational tournament, held on Wednesday and Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg, ranked No. 9 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III tournament national rankings and No. 7 in the dual team rankings, had five weight-class titlists, three runners-up and one third-place finisher in the tournament. Augsburg finished ahead of Castleton (Vt.), Cornell (Iowa) and No. 6-ranked John Carroll (Ohio) in the 12-team field. Twenty Auggies competed in the tournament, combining for an 82-28 record with 30 pins, 15 technical falls and seven major decisions.

Tyler Shilson (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Centennial HS), ranked No. 3 in the latest Division III national poll at 157 pounds, improved to 20-0 on the season with another dominating performance, claiming all five wins by bonus-point decisions. He opened with a 17-second pin, followed up with a 1:47 pin, then won his final three matches by technical falls -- 20-3, 18-1 and 16-1. He combined to outscore his opponents by a 64-6 margin in his five matches, winning his fourth tournament title of the season. Of his 20 wins this season, 19 are bonus-point victories --Â four pins, 12 technical falls and three major decisions.

Nick Rogge (SR, Eastman, Wis./Prairie du Chien HS), ranked No. 11 at 184 pounds, also had a strong performance in winning his weight class, with three technical falls among his four victories. He outscored his opponents by a 57-2 margin in the tournament, with a pair of 15-0 technical falls to finish his tournament run. With his third tournament win of the season, Rogge is now 15-2 on the season with two pins, 10 technical falls and two major decisions. He has recorded technical falls in six of his last eight matches.

Tyler Kim (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS), ranked No. 6 nationally at 285 pounds, went 4-0 with a pair of first-period pins and a major decision to win his weight class, improving to 22-3 on the season. Kim opened his tournament run with pins of 48 seconds and 1:19, and finished with a 10-1 major decision win. He now has 11 pins among his 22 wins on the season, along with three major decisions and a technical fall.

Bentley Schwanebeck-Ostermann (JR, Loyal, Wis./Marshfield HS) scored his second straight tournament title, winning at 197 pounds with a 4-0 record and a pin. The No. 9-ranked wrestler nationally at 197, Schwanebeck-Ostermann is now 12-2 on the season and has won nine matches in a row.

Sam Stuhl (JR, Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth HS) andÂ
Cade Willis (FY, Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove HS) both had impressive efforts at 141 pounds, with each scoring a semifinal win over a nationally-ranked wrestler en route to finishing first and second, respectively. A transfer from Division I North Dakota State making his Auggie debut, Stuhl topped No. 3-ranked Jarrod Brezovec of John Carroll 6-1 in the semfinals, while Willis claimed a 3-2 overtime win over No. 9 ranked Jake Dado of the University of the Ozarks (Ark.). In the finals, Stuhl topped Willis by a 9-2 decision. Stuhl is now 9-2 on the season, while Willis is now 18-5.

Tanner Kroells (JR, Delano, Minn./Delano HS) went 4-1 at 149 pounds, with a pin, technical fall and major decision, to finish second in his weight class.
Carter Sorenson (FY, Lengby, Minn./Fosston HS) went 3-1 with a pin and technical fall to finish second at 174 pounds.

Derek Steele (FY, Winthrop, Minn./Sibley East HS) finished third at 125 pounds, while
Austin Gabbert (FY, Lester Prairie, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS) placed fourth at 133 and
Tyler Raway (FY, Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake HS) finished fourth at 197.

Parker Venz (FY, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) placed seventh at 197.
