STORY UPDATED 4/7 -- St. Olaf announced on Wednesday evening that the doubleheader has now been canceled and will not be made up.
NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Augsburg University baseball team was trailing St. Olaf College in the first game of a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon, when the games were halted due to COVID-19 protocols.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
• When the game was halted at the top of the sixth inning, St. Olaf was leading Augsburg 12-1. Seven of the 12 Oles' runs were earned.Â
• In the five innings played, Augsburg earned six hits and scored one run. The lone run came in the fifth inning when
Carter Peterson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) scored on a
Noah Thomas (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) infield single. Peterson reached the bases with a double to left field.Â

Kyle Hoppe (SR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) was 2-for-3, hitting singles in the first and fifth innings.
Connor Stoik (SO, Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) and
Josh Tyler (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) earned the other two Augsburg hits, a single for Stoik and a double for Tyler.Â

Matt Moe (JR, St. Cloud, Minn./Becker HS) got the pitching start, striking out two batters and giving up two earned runs.
Lukas Nyberg (SO, St. Cloud, Minn./Apollo HS) and
Weston Schug (JR, Becker, Minn./Becker HS) pitched 2.2 innings and 0.1 innings of relief, respectively.Â
Matthew Rones (JR, Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman HS) pitched one inning, striking out two batters, and was on the mound when the game was halted.Â
