Thomley receives All-MIAC baseball honor

2021 MIAC BASEBALL AWARDS

Chase ThomleyMINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University's Chase Thomley (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) was named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Team for the 2021 season, it was announced recently by the conference office.

Thomley was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team, as part of the conference's sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition. 

A pitcher and infielder, Thomley pitched in 12 games this season, compiling a 1-4 record and 5.96 earned-run average. He pitched in 22.2 innings, with 16 strikeouts against eight walks and 26 hits. In his career as a hitter (21 games, 10 starts), Thomley hit .258 (8-of-31) with two RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base.

Under 18th-year head coach Keith Bateman, Augsburg finished 8-26 overall, 5-16 in MIAC play in 2021.
