DULUTH, Minn. – Utilizing a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures, the Augsburg University men's basketball team earned an 84-63 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday evening to improve to 10-0 in MIAC play this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Saints kept it close following the opening tip, holding a slight lead over the Auggies through most of the first five minutes. The Auggies tied the game at the 14:04 mark in the first and took their first lead just over thirty seconds later in what proved to be the final lead change in the game. Leading by as many as nine in the first half, the Auggies carried a 37-31 lead into the locker room.
• The Augsburg lead bounced between five and 12 points over the first 10 minutes of the second half before the Auggies really started to pull away late in the game. The lead grew to as many as 25 as Augsburg coasted to the 21-point win.
• The Auggie offense gave one of its most balanced performances of the season with four Auggies reaching double-figures and nine different players recording points.
Conner Knoepfle (SR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) led the way with 15 points on five-of-nine shooting along with three rebounds and two assists.
Jack Sorenson (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) scored 14 points and added four rebounds, three steals, and an assist.

Joe Palmer (JR, Faribault, Minn./Faribault HS) was just one board shy of another double-double, ending the night with 13 points and nine rebounds alongside three assists and a steal.
Rayquan Moore (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) had a strong night off the bench, hitting five of his seven shots for 13 points while grabbing four rebounds, an assist, and a steal.

Matt Carik (SR, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) finished with eight points, two rebounds, and a steal while
Bradley Winter (JR, Winona, Minn./Winona HS) and
Colin Meade (SO, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) added seven points each.
• Augsburg outscored the Saints 16-11 off turnovers, 12-6 in fast break points, and 38-24 in the paint.
• The Augsburg defense also held firm throughout the game, holding the Saints to just 21-of-62 (33.9%) shooting from the floor.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Following the game, Palmer remains atop the
MIAC overall statistics rankings with 9.4 rebounds per-game and 23.0 points per-game while sitting fourth with a field goal percentage of 56.4. Winter ranks fifth in the conference with a field goal percentage of 54.2%
• The Auggies' 10-0 start in MIAC play this season marks their best start since 1979-80 season when they started 11-0 in MIAC play and 20-0 overall.

• St. Scholastica was led by Nick Carlson with 13 points and Quinn Fischer and Jack Silgen with 12 points each.
