ST. PAUL, Minn. – Winning the event by more than 20 seconds, Augsburg University's
Mohammed Bati (FY, Dodola, Ethiopia/GAP School) became the first-ever Auggie men's cross country runner to earn an individual conference title at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon.

AUGSBURG MEN
• With his first-place finish in the field of 169 runners, Bati becomes the first Auggie men's cross country runner ever, and just the second Auggie overall, to claim an individual conference crown in cross country after Taybri Irving won the women's title in 2016. He finished the 8,000-meter race in 24:27.4, more than 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher and just over five seconds off of his school-record 8k time set earlier this season. Bati has now entered six races in his collegiate career, winning five of them.

Max Jacobson (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn./Zurich International School) finished in 29:28.7,
Joseph Kubly (FY, Crystal, Minn. Robbinsdale Cooper HS) finished in 29:59.4, and
Aaron Puent (SR, La Crosse, Wis./La Crosse Aquinas HS) posted a time of 30:12.9.
Pollei Qadar Caliyare (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished in 32:41.3 and
Sam Scheuneman (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Burnsville HS) rounded out the Auggie men with a time of 33:06.9.
AUGSBURG WOMEN

Gracie Johnson (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) was the first Auggie to finish the 6,000-meter course, crossing the line in 43

Brooklyn Conrad (FY, Ortonville, Minn./ Ortonville HS) was the second Auggie to finish as she claimed 123

• The Auggies will compete in the NCAA Division III North Regional Championships in Northfield, Minn. on the campus of St. Olaf College on Saturday, November 12 with the women's race at 11 am and the men's race following at 12 pm.
