MINNEAPOLIS -- Limited to just eight hits in the doubleheader, the Augsburg University softball team dropped a pair of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games to St. Olaf College on Tuesday at Edor Nelson Field, falling 6-0 and 7-4.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg managed just two hits off of St. Olaf pitcher Jaelyn Orth, who struck out six against no walks and two hit batters.
Katie Manecke (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) led off the fourth inning with a bunt single, and
Zoie Johnson (FY, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) hit a single in the fifth inning.
• St. Olaf scored a pair of unearned runs in the first inning, then added a run in the third and three more in the fifth inning. Two of the three runs were unearned on a two-error play.
• Pitcher
Olivia O'Connor (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) struck out two against five walks and four hits in 4.1 innings of work, with just two earned runs charged to her.
Saryn Sherrell (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) pitched 2.2 innings of relief, striking out three against two walks and a hit.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was held scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning, when it put together four runs on two hits and two errors, sending eight batters to the plate.
Sara Deming (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) hit a three-run triple, and
Meredith Taylor (FY, Randolph, Minn./Randolph HS) drove home Deming on an infield single.

Brynn Hostettler (FY, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) pitched a complete game, with eight strikeouts against 12 walks and five hits.
• Deming and Taylor had two hits each, with
Torrie Rehder (FY, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) and
Bella Kallas (SR, Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS) also contributing singles.
FOR THE FOES
• Abby Grismer hit a double and Maya Patty had two RBI in the first game for St. Olaf.
• Andy Conway hit a two-run double in the first inning and had three RBI in the second game for the Oles.
