WINONA, Minn. --
Sara Deming (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had three hits and drove in two runs for Augsburg University in its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference losses at Saint Mary's University on Saturday, as the Auggies fell 6-1 and 4-3.

• Augsburg scored its lone run in the first inning.
Katie Manecke (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) led off the game with a single, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI single by Deming.
• Saint Mary's tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first, then added four runs on three hits in the second inning and another run in the fifth.

Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS) and
Zoie Johnson (FY, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) also had base hits for Augsburg in the first game.

Olivia O'Connor (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) pitched a complete game for Augsburg, striking out one against three walks and eight hits.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg claimed 10 hits in the second game, including doubles by
Meredith Taylor (FY, Randolph, Minn./Randolph HS) and
Torrie Rehder (FY, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS).
• Augsburg scored two runs in the first inning. Manecke led off the game with a single, and
Sabriya Passmore (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) reached base on an error on a sacrifice bunt attempt. Deming singled to plate Manecke, and Rheder hit a double to drive in Passmore.
• Deming and Taylor had two hits each for the Auggies in the second game.

Libby Moore (FY, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS) struck out two against six walks and five hits in relief of starter
Brynn Hostettler (FY, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS).
FOR THE FOES
• Allison Ciero had four hits in five at-bats, with a triple and three runs scored, to lead Saint Mary's in the doubleheader.
• Sarah Kraus pitched 14 innings for the Cardinals in the doubleheader, claiming both wins with 10 strikeouts against two walks.
