NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Zoie Johnson (FY, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) had four hits in five at-bats on the day, as her Augsburg University softball team gained a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader split at Carleton College on Sunday, dropping a 9-0 decision in the first game and winning 2-1 in the second.

THE BASICS
SCORES
: Carleton 9, Augsburg 0 (5 inn.); Augsburg 2, Carleton 1
LOCATION: Ele Hansen Field, Northfield, Minn.
RECORD: Augsburg 11-20 overall (3-13 MIAC), Carleton 17-12 overall (5-9 MIAC)

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was limited to just two hits and three baserunners in the first-game loss, in a game shortened to five innings by the NCAA eight-run rule. Meredith Taylor (FY, Randolph, Minn./Randolph HS) hit a single in the fourth inning and Johnson led off the fifth inning with a single.
• Carleton had 10 hits and took advantage of five Augsburg errors to score its nine runs, four of which were unearned against Auggie pitcher Olivia O'Connor (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS). O'Connor had four strikeouts against three walks in four innings of work.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg overcame an early deficit with runs in the sixth and seventh innings to claim the victory in the second game. Torrie Rehder (FY, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) hit a one-out single in the sixth inning, moved to third base on a double by Johnson, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Olivia Dynneson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS).
• With two outs in the seventh, singles by Sabriya Passmore (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) and Sara Deming (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) put runners on base, and Taylor hit a single to drive in Passmore with the go-ahead run. Carleton opened the bottom of the seventh with a double, but the runner was stranded on a lineout, fielder's choice and groundout to end the game.
Saryn Sherrell (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) picked up the pitching win, striking out one against two walks and six hits in complete-game effort.
• Johnson went 3-for-3 in the second game, while Deming and Rehder had two hits each.
