2021-22Â GCAA/PING NCAA DIVISION III ALL-REGION TEAMS

MINNEAPOLIS -- For the second straight year, Augsburg University men's golfer
Stellan Orvick (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) was named to the Golf Coaches Association/PING NCAA Division III All-Region 6 Team, it was announced this week.
Orvick was one of 15 players selected to the All-Region 6 Team, made up of players from the Minnesota, Wisconsin, American Rivers, St. Louis and Northern Athletic conferences. It marks the seventh time that an Augsburg men's golfer has earned GCAA All-Region honors since the 2015-16 campaign.Â
Brett Buckingham was honored in both 2017-18 and 2018-19, Brett Gaustad was honored in both 2016-17 and 2015-16, and Brandon Jones was honored in 2015-16.
An
All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection for the second year in a row this spring, Orvick paced the Auggies with a 75.20 stroke average (1,316 strokes, 17.5 rounds), the eighth-best single-season stroke average in Augsburg's modern men's golf history (since 1994-95). His 75.20 stroke average was
11th-best among all MIAC men's golfers this season. He finished in the top five individuals in five of his nine events this season, including earning co-medalist honors at the Bethel Spring Invitational on April 9-10. Orvick finished in a tie for 16th place at the 2021 MIAC Championships in October.
In his two seasons as an Auggie, Orvick has a 74.9 career stroke average (1,909 strokes, 25.5 rounds) and a .827 (672-141) win-loss percentage, with eight top-10 finishes and six top-five finishes in 13 career events. He earned All-MIAC and All-MIAC Championship honors with an eighth-place finish at the 2020-21 MIAC Championships.Â
Under eighth-year head coach
Eric Rolland, Augsburg finished with a 310.1 team stroke average in 2021-22, its eighth time in the last nine seasons of a team stroke average of 311 or better.
