2022 MIAC BASEBALL AWARDS

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University's
Carson Tomony (JR, Madison Wis./Madison East HS) and
Dylan Irving (SR, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) were each awarded with Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball honors for the 2022 season, it was announced on Wednesday. Â
Tomony was named to the MIAC All-Defensive team for his efforts on the field this season, his first career appearance on the list. Playing in 38 games for the Augggies, he recorded 60 putouts with 58 assists and just five errors in 123 total chances for a fielding percentage of .959. At the plate, Tomony belted 31 hits, including five doubles and a home run, in 121 at bats for an average of .256.Â

Irving was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team, as part of the conference's sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.Â
In 12 appearances and three starts this season, Irving struck out 20 batters and allowed 36 hits, 14 walks, and 29 earned runs in a total of 21.2 innings pitched.Â

Keith Bateman, Augsburg finished 14-25 overall and 6-14 in MIAC play in 2022.Â
