2022 MIAC FOOTBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University kicker
Nathan Wangensteen (FY, Chisholm, Minn./Chisholm HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
Wangensteen connected on three field goals for
Augsburg in its 50-13 win over St. Scholastica on Saturday, the most in a single game by an Auggie since Nick Schlieman connected on three in a 2004 game against St. Olaf. He hit a 22-yarder in the first quarter, a 31-yarder early in the second quarter and a 27-yarder just before halftime. He was also 3-for-4 on extra-point attempts.
Wangensteen is now 5-for-6 on field goals and 9-for-12 on extra points this season. His five field goals are the most
among MIAC players in overall statistics so far this season, and his 24 points are fifth-most among MIAC players.
Now 3-0 on the season after its MIAC-opening win, Augsburg travels to face St. Olaf this Saturday (10/1) at 1 p.m. in Northfield, Minn.
