Six Auggies earn MIAC men's hockey honors

MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg University seniors  Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS),  Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS), Mason Palmer (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS), and Nick Woodward (SR, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS) each earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors while Jarod Blackowiak (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) was named an Honorable Mention, it was announced by the conference office this week. In addition, Dollimer, Holland, and Samuel Vyletelka (SO, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) were named to the eight-member MIAC All-Playoff Team.

Austin DollimerDollimer had an outstanding season, appearing in 27 games and ranking tenth in the MIAC with 12 goals and fourth in the conference with 19 assists, putting him fifth in the conference and first on the team with 31 total points on the year. Dollimer was also strong on the dot for Augsburg, owning the MIAC's fifth-best face-off percentage at .569. The selection was Dollimer's second career nod after being named All-MIAC in 2022.

Dollimer was also selected to the eight-member All-Playoff team after helping the Auggies claim the MIAC Playoff title with two goals against Saint John's on Feb. 25 and an assist in the conference championship against St. Scholastica on March 4.

Gavin HollandHolland was another standout forward for Augsburg, ranking fifth in the conference and leading the team with 14 goals and adding 12 assists for a total of 26 points, good for eighth in the conference and second on the team. With 106 shots in his 27 appearances, Holland led the conference in shots per-game while tying for the conference lead with three game-winning goals and two shorthanded goals. The selection came as Holland's third MIAC honor of his career after earning an Honorable Mention nod in 2020 and All-MIAC honors in 2022.

Holland also earned a spot on the All-Playoff team after recording an assist against Saint John's on Feb. 25 and adding a goal and an assist in the conference championship against St. Scholastica on March 4.

Mason PalmerPalmer was a key piece of the Augsburg defense that ranked second in the conference with 2.59 goals allowed per-game, finishing with a plus-nine plus-minus rating, good for 15th in the MIAC this year. Palmer also chipped in on offense with one goal and 14 assists on the season, good for tenth-best in the MIAC. The selection comes as the second of Palmer's career after earning All-MIAC honors in 2022.


Nick WoodwardWoodward was also a key contributor on defense for the Auggies, ranking fifth in the MIAC with a plus-16 plus-minus rating while landing 17th among the conference ranks with 23 blocked shots. He registered 16 points with five goals and 11 assists, including four power play goals, putting him in a tie for fourth in the conference. It was Woodward's second MIAC honor after earning an Honorable Mention nod in 2022.

Jarod BlackowiakBlackowiak was named an All-Conference Honorable Mention after ranking third on the team and 15th in the MIAC with 20 points, including nine goals and 11 assists. He scored three power play goals, good for 20th in the MIAC, and also ranked 20th in the conference with a .491 face-off percentage. It was the second career conference honor for Blackowiak after earning an All-MIAC selection in 2022.

Samuel Vyletelka
Vyletelka earned a spot as the only goalie on the All-Playoff team after starting both playoff games for Augsburg and allowing just one goal in each game. Against Saint John's on Feb. 25, he faced 35 shots and made 34 saves while he faced 26 shots and made 25 saves in the conference title game against St. Scholastica on March 4.

The Auggies sit at 16-9-2 on the season and finished conference play 10-5-1, earning the second seed in the MIAC playoffs. The Auggies defeated both Saint John's and St. Scholastica en route to their sixth MIAC Playoff Championship, earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Playoffs where they are set to take on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the first round at 7 pm on Saturday, March 11.
