ST. PAUL, Minn. – Highlighted by a new school record in the 600-meter run from
Allison Hookom (SO, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS), the Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams competed among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition at the Vanessa Seljeskog Classic hosted by Macalester college on Saturday morning.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Hookom added her name to the top of the Auggie record book yet again, breaking the school record in the indoor 600 meter on her first attempt with a time of 1:37.73, a mark that ranks first in the conference so far this season. The previous record was held by Hannah Dietrich with a time of 1:38.19 in 2005.

Gracie Johnson (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) placed second among the 17-runner field in the 3,000-meter run, clocking a time of 10:49.37

Takia Campbell (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) made her collegiate debut for the Auggies, finishing 15
th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.87 seconds.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Mohammed Bati (SO, Dodola, Ethiopia/GAP School) continued to dominate the competition in the mile run, winning the event with a time of 4:21.44. Bati also claimed first place in the 3,000-meter run, clocking a time of 8:40.00
•
Zinabu Engstrom (FY, Colorado Springs, Colo./Coronado HS) competed in the 1,000-meter run for the first time, claiming second place with a time of 2:45.83.

Getinat Asfaw (SR. Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) placed fourth in the 600 meter, clocking a time of 1:25.19.
• Two Auggies earned points in the 800 meter with
Bereket Wondimu (SR, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) placing sixth with a time of 2:05.20 and
Shareef Oty (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) landing in seventh with a time of 2:08.69
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Asfaw, Engstrom, Oty, and Wondimu placed sixth with a time of 3:41.07.

• The Auggies will compete at the St. Olaf College Invitational next Saturday, January 27 with events beginning at 10:30 am.
