WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Augsburg University women's wrestling team dropped a pair of dual meets in a triangular meet at Wartburg College on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 31-16 decision to the host Knights and a 33-16 decision to William Penn University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg, tied with Wartburg for the No. 13 spot in the latest NWCA women's national rankings for NCAA teams, had seven wrestlers compete in the triangular with Wartburg and William Penn, the No. 11-ranked NAIA squad. Of the nine matches wrestled in the triangular, Augsburg won five, all by first-period pin.

Nina Makem (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS), ranked No. 4 nationally at 155 pounds, scored a pair of pins, topping Erika Peterson of Wartburg in 28 seconds and Kylee Eastwood of William Penn in 23 seconds. Now 16-1 on the season, Makem now has six pins in under 60 seconds this season and 12 in her career. Makem is now 72-13 in her collegiate career, with 17 pins and 40 technical falls among her career wins.

Autumn Flanigan (SR, Troy, Mo./Troy Buchanan HS) and
Madison Horn (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) each went 1-1 on the day, at 143 and 170 pounds, respectively, both claiming first-period pins in their victories.
• Belle Huss (SO, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) claimed her first win of the season at 191 pounds with a 28-second pin against Wartburg.
FOR THE FOES
• Wartburg collected wins on the mat in three of the five bouts wrestled with the Auggies, scoring one pin.
• William Penn had one win in the four bouts wrestled against Augsburg.
