2024 MIAC MEN'S SOCCER AWARDS

MINNEAPOLIS -- Six Augsburg University men's soccer players earned postseason honors from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, it was announced on Monday.

Forwards Mizael Harris (JR, Happy Valley, Ore./La Salle Catholic College Prep HS) and Tomas Menna (SR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS), and midfielder Joseph Swallen (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) were named to the 22-member All-MIAC team, while midfielder Mitchel Munzing (SO, Portland, Ore./Grant HS) and forward Remus Repcak (SO, Tualatin, Ore/Tualatin HS) were among 11 conference players named All-MIAC Honorable Mention. Harris and midfielder Jeffrey Richter (JR, Portland, Ore./La Salle Catholic College Prep HS) were named to the 11-member MIAC All-Playoff Team, honoring outstanding performances in the six-team MIAC postseason playoffs.

It's the second straight year that Harris has earned both All-MIAC and MIAC All-Playoff Team honors. Munzing was an All-MIAC honoree in 2023. It's the first conference honors for Menna, Swallen, Repcak and Richter.

Harris finished his junior campaign with 20 points (seven goals, six assists) in 1,350 minutes played in 17 games (79.4 minutes per-game), with three game-winning goals. He scored goals in six of his 17 games, including a two-goal effort in Augsburg's 4-0 win at Northwestern-St. paul on Sept. 3. Among MIAC players in all games, Harris was tied for 12th in goals, tied for 13th in assists and tied for 11th in points. In his 52-game college career (3.364 minutes, 64.7 minutes per-game), Harris now has 21 goals and 26 assists for 68 points, tied for fifth in school history in career points, tied for 11th in career goals and second in assists.

Menna had an outstanding campaign in his senior season, playing in all 21 games (1,202 minutes, 57.2 minutes per-game) and standing second on the team in scoring, with nine goals and five assists for 23 points, including three game-winning goals. He scored goals in seven games this season, including two-goal efforts in Augsburg's 4-2 win at Saint Mary's on Sept. 21 and in the Auggies' 3-2 win over Carleton on Oct. 23. Menna was tied for eighth among MIAC players in goals scored, tied for 17th in assists and 10th in points. Menna finished his 64-game college career (2,685 minutes played, 41.2 minutes per-game) with 14 goals and 10 assists for 38 points, with four game-winning goals.

A versatile player in the midfield, Swallen started 18 of his 20 games this season for the Auggies, playing 1,409 minutes (70.5 minutes per-game), including five full-game efforts, in his first season at Augsburg atfer transferring from Division I St. Thomas. He had five assists on the season, including assists in three of the final six games of the season. He assisted on the game-tying goal in Augsburg's 2-1 win at Macalester on Nov. 1, and assisted on the game-winning overtime goal in the Auggies' 1-0 MIAC playoff win over the Scots on Nov. 4. He has now played in 26 games in his collegiate career, with five assists.

Munzing played in just 13 games (767 minutes, 59.0 minutes per-game) before an injury ended his season, but he still led the Auggies in scoring, with 10 goals and six assists for 26 points, ranking seventh among MIAC players in goals, tied for 13th in assists and fifth in points. He had a pair of hat tricks on the season -- a three-goal, one assist effort, all in the second half, in Augsburg's 7-1 win over Crown on Sept.11, and a three-goal, two-assist performance in the Auggies' 6-2 win over Wisconsin-River Falls on Sept. 22. In 48 career games (2,418 minutes played, 50.4 minutes per-game), he now has 21 goals and 18 assists for 60 points, now tied for 11th in school history in goals, sixth in assists and 11th in total points.

Starting all 21 games and playing in 1,694 minutes (80.7 minutes per-game, second-most on the team), Repcak was a dynamic playmaker from the wing, scoring two goals with a team-leading 13 assists for 17 points. Repcak led the MIAC in assists this season and tied for 16th in points, currently tied for ninth among all NCAA Division III players in total assists. He had a goal or assist in 11 of his 21 games, including three games with two assists. In 39 career games (2,284 minutes played, 58.6 minutes per-game), Repcak now has six goals with 17 assists for 29 points, tied for seventh in school history in career assists.

Richter earned MIAC All-Playoff Team honors for his defensive play in Augsburg's two conference playoff games, a 1-0, two-overtime win over Macalester on Nov. 4 and a 4-1 loss at St. Olaf on Nov. 7. Starting all 21 games this season and playing a team-high 1,824 minutes (86.9 minutes per-game), Richter scored three goals with an assist for seven points, playing 17 full 90-plus minute games this year. He has played in 57 career games (3,557 minutes played, 62.4 minutes per-game), with nine goals and four assists for 22 career points.

Under 21st-year head coach Greg Holker, Augsburg finished 12-4-5 overall, 5-1-4 in MIAC play in 2024, earning a spot in the MIAC playoffs for the ninth time since the 2006 season, and fifth time in the last nine full campaigns. Augsburg has recorded eight or more wins in 16 of the last 19 seasons.
