MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University men's soccer midfielder Mitchel Munzing (SR, Portland, Ore./Grant HS), defender Jeffrey Richter (SR, Portland, Ore./La Salle Catholic College Prep HS) and forward Mizael Harris (SR, Happy Valley, Ore./La Salle Catholic College Prep HS) earned academic honors from the United Soccer Coaches organization, it was announced on Thursday.

Munzing and Richter earned spots on the United Soccer Coaches Division III Scholar All-America Team, Munzing as a first-team honoree and Richter as a second-team honoree. The two were also named to the USC Division III Scholar All-North/Central Region Team as first-team honorees, while Harris was named to the second team. The academic awards are the latest for the three Auggies, part of a squad that advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III national tournament, finishing with a school record for victories -- 18-3-3 overall and 7-1-2 in MIAC play under 22nd-year head coach Greg Holker. Munzing was named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-American squad last week as a second-team honoree. In his 72-game career (3,933 minutes, 54.6 minutes per-game), Munzing has scored 32 goals with 27 assists for 91 points, with nine game-winning goals. He finished his career fourth in school history in goals, third in assists and second in total points.
