Amelia Hermanson (FY, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) earned her first collegiate career tournament top-eight finish, placing second at 103 pounds for the Augsburg University women's wrestling team at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 8-Woman Battle on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hermanson went 3-1 with a pair of first-period pins to finish second at the tournament, scoring a 2:15 pin over Aroura Preston of Buena Vista (Iowa) and a 34-second pin over Sofia Meza of Loras (Iowa).

Katie Whelan (FY, Harmony, MInn./Fillmore Central HS) finished fourth at 180 pounds, while
Kelsey Cruz Rojas (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) went 3-2 with two sub-30-second pins to place fifth at 160 pounds.

Gisele Gallegos (FY, South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) placed sixth at 110 pounds, and
Grey Peck (FY, Longmont, Colo./Longmont HS) finished seventh at 131 pounds.
